108 Things That Have Happened Since the Cubs Won the World Series

Whether you blame it on the goat or just bad baseball, the Cubs infamous losing streak has plagued Chicago sports fans for a whopping 108 years. This year however, we could win it all and restore glory to our great city! In the meantime, just in case you forgot how long 108 years is, here's a list of some of the things that have happened since they last won in 1908.

1. A man landed on the moon (maybe!!)

2. The first black president was elected

3. Beyoncé. Just Beyoncé

4. The Titanic was built, set sail, sank, was discovered and turned into a classic movie

5. TV was invented. How did they spend their time??

6. The internet was created, and more importantly NETFLIX

7.Martin Luther King Jr. gave his "I Have a Dream" speech

8. Hawaii became a state

9. Both World Wars took place

10. Major League Baseball added 14 more teams

11. Haley's Comet passed earth... twice!

12. Britney Spears shaved her head

13. 9/11

14. Prohibition was created... and then repealed

15. Wrigley Field was built. Can you imagine the Cubs without Wrigley? Or more importantly without Wrigleyville??

16. 40 summer and winter Olympic games

17. 16 presidents have been elected

18. The 80's came, went and came back again

19. Same with the 90's (who doesn't love a good choker?!)

20. Amelia Earhart flew solo across the Atlantic Ocean

21. The Yankees won 27 World Series

22. Gay Marriage was legalized

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college.
