100 Foods I Crave On A Weekly Basis

If you're anything like me, then food plays a large part in your life and you fundamentally do not understand picky eaters. I've been blessed in many ways to be fortunate enough to have experienced all the foods I have.

From a young age, my parents introduced my palate to every texture and flavor of food from countless cultures. I also learned quite young that if you fail to finish what's on your plate, your odds of getting dessert are pretty slim. So I ate everything, and I still do.

Additionally, even at the age of twenty-one, I am blessed with the metabolism of a 14-year-old boy who is in the midst of a growth spurt. So there's truly never a limit to how much I can eat, besides maybe my wallet.

I'm also fortunate enough to be allergy-free, so there aren't any health limitations that prevent me from eating certain foods or dishes.

Lastly, my love for food stems largely from my mom's cooking. She's amazing, and very talented in the kitchen, so much so that she could honestly open a 5-star restaurant, no problem. I've grown up watching her cook and learning from how she pulls together magnificent homemade meals even on busy weeknights.

I lay in bed at night dreaming of my mother's cooking, missing it, longing for it. Among my momma's dishes, these are thetop 100 foods I crave at least on a weekly basis.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week.
