Let me start out by saying I love college, and I absolutely love University of Wisconsin- Eau Claire. That being said, college isn't perfect. There are some parts of college that aren't exactly ideal. Here are the 10 worst parts of college.
1. Studying
This one is a no-brainer. Studying and doing school work is not exactly a good time. College students spend hours upon hours dedicated to their studies. Obviously this is the point of college, but that doesn't make it any more enjoyable.
2. The Food
At first, college cafeteria food is tasty and exciting. As time goes on, the choices become unappealing and less than delicious. I will say that the unlimited ice cream is a plus though!
3. 8 A.M. Classes
In high school, going to class at 8 in the morning was the norm. Once you get to college, 8 am seems like the crack of dawn. If you mention to any other college student that you have an 8 am class, there will be instant sympathy.
4. Small Dorm Rooms
When you go to college, you get put in what feels like small box with another person to share for a year. Roommates are one of the best parts of college, but the lack of space is honestly one of the worst.
5. The Cost
This is the worst part about college in my opinion. You pay thousands and thousands of dollars, which means you need to work on top of your studies. This can be incredibly overwhelming.
6. Exhaustion
No matter how much sleep you get, you are always tired. it seems like your body is never fully rested, and you become dependent on a daily nap time.
7. Professors that don't update your grades
Not knowing where you are at in your classes is incredibly stressful and nerve-wrecking. There are many professors that don't update your grades so you aren't sure how you're doing. This is the worst!
8. Walking to class in the winter
You have to literally wear five layers just to keep from getting frost bite from one building to the other. Not only that, but class is hardly ever cancelled when it's cold, so even when it's 30 below, you better bundle up and get going.
9. Paying to do laundry
You're already poor from paying tuition, and you are still expected to pay to wash your clothes. This causes you to push off your laundry for as long as your clean underwear supply lasts.
10. The constant feeling that you have no idea what you are doing
Everyone feels this way. Even the people that seem to have it figured out. Quite honestly, I don't think it even ends after college is over.
