Living off-campus means either having to drive, ride the bus, or walk to campus. That being said, I've recently decided to start walking to campus more. I made that decision because I love getting to put my headphones in and jam out to music as I walk. Recently, I've been on a big worship kick and I've found (or been reminded of) a lot of great Jesus music! These are a few of my favorites:

1. "Raise A Hallelujah" by Bethel Music (Jonathan David Helser, Melissa Helser)

I raise a hallelujah, with everything inside of me

I raise a hallelujah, I will watch the darkness flee

I raise a hallelujah, in the middle of the mystery

I raise a hallelujah, fear you lost your hold on me!

2. "Rule" by Hillsong UNITED

And the light we see is Jesus

And the air we breathe is freedom

And the sound it knows no fear

Your love rules the atmosphere

Your love rules the atmosphere

3. "Confident" by Steffany Gretzinger & Bobby Strand

Your laughter scatters my enemies

You give me joy for my mourning

You lift my head so I can see

All of heaven surrounding me will see me through

My soul can rest, my righteousness is found in You

With every moment left, in every borrowed breath, let this be true

That all my heart, for all my life, belongs to You

4. "Drenched in Love" by Bethel Music (Daniel Bashta, Harvest)

Oh souls atoned by the blood of the Lamb,

I'm not a slave to what once held me damned

How beautiful that cleansing flood

I am washed, I am washed

I am drenched in love

5. "Peace Be Still" by The Belonging Co. (ft. Lauren Daigle)

Peace be still

Say the word and I will

Set my feet upon the sea

Till I'm dancing in the deep

Oh peace be still

You are here so it is well

Even when my eyes can't see

I will trust the voice that speaks

6. "Relentless" by Hillsong UNITED

The time is up for chasing shadows

You gave the world a light to follow

A hope that shines beyond tomorrow

Your love goes on

Your love goes on

7. "Run To The Father" by Cody Carnes

You saw my condition

Had a plan from the start

Your Son for redemption

The price for my heart

And I don't have a context

For that kind of love

I don't understand

I can't comprehend

All I know is I need You

8. "To the One" by UPPERROOM (Meredith Mauldin)

King of endless life

Yet you chose to die

On a sinner's tree

Exposed for me

With one final breath

It is finished

Stormed the gates of hell

Ripping through the veil

9. "Another In The Fire" by Hillsong UNITED

There was another in the fire

Standing next to me

There was another in the waters

Holding back the seas

And should I ever need reminding

Of how I've been set free

There is a cross that bears the burden

Where another died for me

There is another in the fire

10. "Freedom" by Jesus Culture (Kim Walker-Smith)

Step out of the shadows, step out of the grave

Break into the wild and don't be afraid

Run into wide-open spaces, grace is waiting for you

Dance like the weight has been lifted, grace is waiting

11. "My Soul Sings" by Maverick City Music (Dante Bowe)

I feel Your goodness on the mountain

And I saw Your love down in the valley

And Your grace still surrounds me

God, You've been good to me

Yes You've been good to me

12. "See A Victory" by Elevation Worship

The weapon may be formed, but it won't prosper

When the darkness falls, it won't prevail

'Cause the God I serve knows only how to triumph

My God will never fail

Oh, my God will never fail

13. "Whole Heart (Hold Me Now)" by Hillsong UNITED

And that grace

Owns the ground where the grave did

Where all my shame remains

Left for dead in Your wake

You crashed those age-old gates

You left no stone unturned

You stepped out of that grave

And shouldered me all the way

14. "Highlands (Song Of Ascent)" by Hillsong UNITED

So I will praise You on the mountain

And I will praise You when the mountain's in my way

You're the summit where my feet are

So I will praise You in the valleys all the same

No less God within the shadows

No less faithful when the night leads me astray

You're the heaven where my heart is

In the highlands and the heartache all the same

15. "Clean" by Hillsong UNITED

So I will rise and lift my head

For by His mercy my life was spared

The highest Name has set me free

Because of Jesus

My heart is clean

A large portion of the songs listed is from Hillsong UNITED's most recent album, People. They recorded it live, released it in April 2019, and it's just such an amazing album. I've had it on repeat and each song seems to hit me no matter what mood I'm in or what kind of day I'm having.

However, all of these songs are breathtaking! Worship is something that, personally, propels me even closer to Jesus and allows me to better notice His presence around me. These songs have had such an impact on me over the past few months and my daily walk with Christ.

28 Daily Thoughts of College Students

"I want to thank Google, Wikipedia, and whoever else invented copy and paste. Thank you."

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It's the most wonderful time of the year! Christmas is one of my personal favorite holidays because of the Christmas traditions my family upholds generation after generation. After talking to a few of my friends at college, I realized that a lot of them don't really have "Christmas traditions" in their family, and I want to help change that. Here's a list of Christmas traditions that my family does, and anyone can incorporate into their family as well!

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows. Surviving them is a must, and the following five phases are a reality for all majors from business to art, nursing to history.
