The holiday season is one of the biggest at shopping malls across the globe. While a majority of the population was out shopping, there are still the people who had to work through it. If you were one of those people here are 10 things you probably experienced this holiday season.
1. The warm fuzzy feeling you get when someone is actually in a good mood.
During the holidays, stress takes over a lot of people. There are times when customers are very rude, but then you get the occasional customer in a good mood. That’s when you don’t even have to fake a smile.
2. The annoyance when people are upset that you don’t have exactly what they wanted the day before Christmas.
The best is when people come in on Christmas Eve and are expecting that you have everything they want in exactly what size they want. Then get mad at you when they realize they've been sold out for a month. It’s not my fault that you waited until the last minute.
3. The stupidity of when someone asks if you have any more in the back.
Yeah, we actually have a whole lot in the back. I just decided to leave the one out here and not fill them. Of course we don't have any in the back or else they would be out here.
4. The struggle of a customer asking you to call another store.
“Can you call another store to see if they have it?” The question you really can’t say no to, but you wish you could. No one likes calling another store, and you know that the other store is just as busy as you are.
5. Mastering the fake smile to give rude customers.
For whatever reason, customers will find reasons to be rude to you, and there really isn’t much you can say back.
6. When you finally get to go on your break.
It’s the best 15 or 30 minutes of your shift! Time to hit up Pretzel Maker.
7. Then when you realize the line for Pretzel Maker is super long.
It sucks when waiting in line for your pretzel takes up the majority of your break. Then you have to eat it as fast as you can to get back out on the floor.
8. Your newfound hatred of Christmas music.
Not that you hate Christmas music, but when you hear the same four songs over and over again, they can get pretty old.
9. The nightmare of post-Christmas returns.
Nearly every single person coming in after Christmas has a return. The struggle of finding receipts, gift receipts, store credit and everything is a nightmare.
10. Seeing your paycheck after it all.
Then realizing all of the Holiday madness at the mall was worth the nice check.
