10 Winter Things To Look Forward To

The actual season of winter, not a reference to a popular television show, will be arriving soon. The official date for the winter solstice this year is December 21. These remaining two months will pass by as quickly as it takes a hungry reindeer to intake food. Here are ten winter related things to look forward to.

1) Sweaters

See that ferret resting on a pile of fuzzy warm sweaters? Yeah, sweaters will make you that happy too.

2) Hot beverages

It’s the perfect season for this. Bonus for potential hang out and date opportunities.

3) Seeing your breath

Cold condensation is somehow satisfying.

4) Apricity

Apricity is the feeling of the sun's warmth on your skin. This feeling becomes refreshing when it’s cold outside.

5) Christmas

Cheers to all of the themed music, food, movies, and atmosphere.

6) More school holidays

The months leading up to the winter have very few school holidays. This season opens up a bit more time for family and relaxation.

7) Peppermint

‘Tis the season for peppermint.

8) Fairy lights

They’re everywhere and they’re so lovely.

9) More reasons to stay in bed

Cold? Stay in bed. No class? Stay in bed. Have free time? Stay in bed.

10) Coziness

Everything about winter amounts to this feeling with limitless descriptions.

I am that person who will decorate directly after Thanksgiving is over. This year, my roommates and I put the tree up in our apartment before we even left for Thanksgiving break. It is a great stress reliever for me to just sit in my living room and work on the huge amount of work I have before the semester is over.

Mistakes are something we all make, no matter how old we get. Most of the time, the mistakes we made are little and sometimes due to something out of our control. Yet, there are mistakes that are bigger than others. Personally, I have mistakes that I wish I could go back and undo. Here they are:

Writing a paper is never fun and is rarely rewarding. The writer's block, the page requirement, be specific, but don’t summarize, make sure you fixed any grammatical errors, did you even use spellcheck? and analyze, analyze, analyze.

Papers can be a major pain. They take up so much time and effort that by the end of the process you hate yourself and you hate the professor for making life so difficult. Questions of your existence start roaming in your mind. Am I even cut out for college if I can’t write a single paper? Am I even capable of taking care of myself if I lack the energy to open my laptop and start typing?
