10 Websites From Your Childhood (That You Probably Forgot About)

As a kid, I loved a lot of things--but one of my favorite things to do was surfing the web with my sister. We found the best websites to waste our time on, so I thought I would share a list of my favorite websites I would visit as a kid.

1. MyScene

My best friend and I spent most of our time on www.myscene.com. We could literally spend hours dressing up the characters, giving them makeovers, and doing their nails. I have no idea how a game could be so addictive, but I am pretty sure I would still love playing all these games today as I did when I was younger.

2. Millsberry

There were many websites a lot like this one, but Millsberry always was my personal favorite. It was always a great time when you had the chance to create a version of yourself online, and be able to play in a virtual world.

3. Brain Pop

One of the best feelings in the world was when my middle school teacher plugged up her computer to the projector so we could watch Brain Pop videos. They actually made learning fun and were such a great part of my middle school experience.

4. Cool Math

Along with Brain Pop, www.coolmath.com was another website that helped make education seem like a game. I would play the game "Lemonade Stand" for hours and hours, and I didn't even realize I was learning math while playing it.

5. Amanda Please

The fact that this website still exists is beyond my imagination. This website is unique because it doesn't make any sense at all, but at the same time, it makes complete since to me.

5. Addicting Games

This website probably gave my parent's computer a million viruses, but it was worth it (for me at least). The endless pop-ups were annoying, but some of the best games from my childhood were on this website.

6. Disney Channel

Disney Channel's website had some entertaining games, but in my opinion, the best games included the Lizzie McGuire/Miranda dressup and the Cadet Kelly game.

7. Space Jam

There is nothing really special about this website. I am just really confused why it is still on the internet and it still works.

8. Polly Pocket

The Polly Pocket website and the MyScene website pretty much went hand in hand. Reminiscing on this website made me want to go back to the time where I collected Polly Pockets and everything was a whole lot easier.

9. Postopia

I never really thought that a website based on cereal would be cool, but as a kid, this was one of the coolest websites to go on.

10. Neopets

I saved the best for last, because Neopets was my favorite website of all time as a kid. I would be lying if I said I didn't create a Neopet the other day just so I could play Meerca Chase.

Christmas Tree

Now that Halloween is over, it's time to focus on the Holiday Season. Don't get me wrong, I think Thanksgiving is great and can't wait for it, but nothing gives me greater joy than watching Freeform's 25 Days of Christmas, lighting peppermint scented candles, decking the halls, and baking gingerbread cookies. So while we approach the greatest time of the year, let's watch the 15 best Christmas movies of all time.

6 Signs You Are An English Major

There are various stereotypes about college students, most of which revolve around the concept of your major. Unfortunately, we often let stereotypes precede our own judgments, and we take what information is immediately available to us rather than forming our own opinions after considerable reflection. If I got a dollar for every time my friends have made a joke about my major I could pay my tuition. One stereotype on campus is the sensitive, overly critical and rigid English major. Here are six telltale signs you are one of them.

27 Things 'The Office' Has Taught Us

"The Office" is a mockumentary based on everyday office life featuring love triangles, silly pranks and everything in between. It can get pretty crazy for just an average day at the office.

When you were little, your parents probably told you television makes your brain rot so you wouldn't watch it for twelve straight hours. However, I feel we can learn some pretty valuable stuff from television shows. "The Office," while a comedy, has some pretty teachable moments thrown in there. You may not know how to react in a situation where a co-worker does something crazy (like put your office supplies in jello) but thanks to "The Office," now you'll have an idea how to behave ifsomething like that should happen.

Here are just a few of the things that religious Office watchers can expect to learn.

Being pre-med is quite a journey. It’s not easy juggling school work, extracurricular activities, volunteering, shadowing, research, and MCAT prep all at the same time. Ever heard of “pain is temporary, but GPA is forever?” Pre-meds don’t just embody that motto; we live and breathe it. Here are 10 symptoms you’re down with the pre-med student syndrome.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

Books were always about understanding for me, about learning the way someone else sees, about connection.

High School And College Sucked All Of The Fun Out Of Reading

I keep making this joke whenever the idea of books is brought up: "God, I wish I knew how to read." It runs parallel to another stupid phrase, as I watch my friends struggle through their calculus classes late at night in our floor lounge: "I hope this is the year that I learn to count." They're both truly idiotic expressions, but, when I consider the former, I sometimes wonder if there's some truth to it.
