10 Ways You Know You're A Freshman In College

Let's face it, there are things that Freshmen in college do that make them stand out from the upperclassmen. However that is not a bad thing, it is OK to do some silly things that only Freshmen do because you're not the only one. Here are some things that Freshmen do that make them quite obviously Freshmen.

1. You've been locked out of your dorm room.

2. You walk around the cafeteria surveying every possible food option there is.

We are holding up the lines but we don't want to get stuck eating the same thing every day!

3. You attempt to walk around campus and find all of your classes before school starts, but ending up getting lost.

My roommate and I did this and we spent twenty minutes looking for one of her classes in the complete wrong building.

4. You've met SO many new people that you cannot possibly remember everyone's names.

"Hi…I remember your face…but remind me of your name again?"

5. You often find yourself sharing stories about high school, because unlike all of the upperclassmen, that's all you've got.

"At my high school we used to…"

6. You take advantage of every opportunity for free food that there is.

We have to make our meal points last for the whole semester…

7. But you also find yourself going to the common area at midnight to get some ice cream at least three times a week

.

We all know they re-stock on Tuesdays!

8. Rather than doing your homework, you spend lots of time exploring your campus and the areas around it.

We are living in a new place, whether it's a big city or a small town, going to a concert or going to the beach, we are called to get out and explore our new surroundings.

9. You've started drinking coffee way more frequently than before.

Late nights doing homework call for coffee in order to get through classes the next morning. We have fallen to the addiction we always thought was only for our parents: coffee.

10. It seems that you are constantly busy, but when those spare moments hit, you do really miss home.

We miss our parents, our siblings, our dogs, our friends, and most of all a home cooked meal. It is totally normal and OK to have these moments. Every freshman does.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
