1. You were caught mini moving your routine in class

You get a lot of weird looks, but you really just have to get it down before practice later

2. Anytime a good song comes on you start choreographing in your head

Hey, who knows when you might use that for a routine!

3. Every time a part of the season ends you're already planning for next year

It will be one day after high kick and you're already thinking about themes for next year

4. Summer camp is the most fun and stressful 4 days ever

You are learning so many routines but still have to think about your original and you can barely feel your body, but you get to go away with your team and bond so it's all worth it.

5. You live for competitions

Football game and pep rallys are fun, but we really work for that feeling walking off the competition floor knowing you killed it.

6. You're coach could be the scariest person ever

If you did everything well it was fine but if it wasn't up to their satisfaction well... you better just start running.

7. The girls on staff were your role models

You looked forward to seeing who would be your staff sister every year, and you formed an immediate bond with them that lasts for years.

8. Walking up the stairs after practice is just a terrible thing

It always takes way longer than it should and you are already dreading the next time you'll have to walk up them.

9. Sharpen up, hold your ground, and guide are key vocabulary terms

Pom really has their own language when you think about it.

10. Achieving your goals is the most indescribable feeling

Not only are you making you're coaches and team proud but you're also getting that recognition from the pom community that all your hard work payed off!

The pompon community has been such a blessing in my life and I'm glad that I'm still involved in it (:

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.
