We all know dads are the most difficult people to buy for. If they don't need a new grill or a new tool, what do you get them? They already have a good watch and they probably have all of the gear they could ever need to cheer on their favorite sports team, so what do you do?

Have no fear. Here is a broke kid's guide to treating your dad on Father's Day without having to break the bank. After all, is your dad ever more thrilled than when you simply show him a little extra love? My guess is no.

1. Do the dirty work.

Yes, that means washing the cars, taking out the trash, cleaning up the garage, you-name-it. We take for granted the fact that someone has to do these undesirable jobs, and it's usually dad who does them. This Father's Day, give dad a little break and do these tasks for him without being asked. It'll mean more to him than you know.

2. Tell him you appreciate him.

As days go by, we often can take the people closest to us for granted. Make sure to tell him that you notice how much he does for you and your family, and tell him how much it means to you.

3. Laugh at his jokes.

When you ask him if he got a haircut and he replies "No, I got all my hairs cut", just laugh along like that isn't the millionth time you've heard that in your lifetime.

4. Write him a nice letter or card.

Taking the time to write out how much you appreciate your dad and how much his presence means to you will be a small action that brings him a great amount of joy. Everyone needs a reminder that they're doing something right now and again. After all, he contributed to making you, and that has got to count for something!

5. Let him teach you something.

You may know how to ride a bike now, but that doesn't mean he is done teaching you. Let him teach you how to play the drums or how to change your tires. Let him teach you his best dad dance moves. Not only will you be benefitting from learning a new skill, (whether you'll show others or not), but he will be happy you've taken the time to let him teach you something again.

6. Take him to a movie he's been wanting to see.

Has he been wanting to see the latest action movie but hasn't yet because mom wasn't interested? Treat him to a daddy-daughter or a father-son date and buy him some popcorn and enjoy a movie together.

7. Or... have a movie marathon of his choosing at home.

If there's nothing he's interested in at the theater, look no further than your own DVD stash. Have a "Star Wars" or "Lord of the Rings" marathon. Microwave some popcorn, grab a bowl of ice cream, and veg out in the comfort of your own home.

8. Hug him like you mean it.

Little things often mean the most to people, and taking the time to hug your dad, even if you're not normally an affectionate person, is a way of saying "I love you. I'm glad I have you." Isn't that what Father's Day is actually about?

9. Do something with him outside.

If it's too nice to stay indoors, treat your dad to a day in the great wide open. Go fishing, hiking, golfing, or kayaking- whatever you both enjoy doing together and maybe haven't done in a while. Some fresh air will be a treat for the both of you.

10. Tell him how much you love him.

It may seem obvious, but the best gift you can give anyone is love and recognition. Make sure to tell him that you love him. Everyone needs and deserves to feel valued, and dads are no different.

Happy Father's Day to all the father figures out there!

11 Things Summer Nannies Can Relate To

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

If it hurts now, it'll hurt again. Not because you're gullible or naive, only because you fall fast, hard, and you do it every time.

We fall each and every time with the complete and utter confidence that someone will be there to catch us. Now that person we SWORE we were never going to fall for has our hearts, and every time we see them our palms start sweating. The butterflies in our stomach start to soar and our hearts are entirely too close to bursting out of our chests.

Growing up I have always wanted to own a horse. My grandparents own a well known equestrian facility in Georgia, so I have been riding since I was born. A bond between a person and their horse is a bond so strong that it cannot be broken. Everywhere I went I wanted to be around horses, even forcing my family to go on trail rides during vacations. Horses have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember has taught me great responsibility, as well as 14 things that all equestrians can relate to.

College is super hard. Between working, studying, and having a social life, it feels like a struggle to just keep afloat.

I understand. When you feel like your drowning and there's no way to stay afloat I understand that it feels like everyone else is doing just fine. I understand all the frustration, long nights in the library, and that feeling that you want to just throw in the towel. I understand that sometimes it's too hard to get out of bed because your brain is already filled with too much information to remember. I understand because I am also feeling pretty burnt out.

No Matter How Challenging School Gets, You Have To Put Your Health First — A Degree Won't Mean Anything If You're Dead

Some of the best advice I've ever received was from my social studies teacher in sophomore year of high school. He stated, "If you don't know it at midnight, you're not going to know it for the 8 a.m. exam, so get some sleep."

It's such a simple piece of advice, but it holds so much accuracy and it's something that the majority of college students need to hear and listen to. "All-nighters" are a commonality on college campuses in order to cram in studying for an exam that is typically the next day.
