10 Ways To Tell You've Found 'Your Person'

People come and go, that's just how life works. But one day a person is going to walk into your life and have no intention on leaving. This is "your person." Don't be confused though, I'm not talking about a guy or random acquaintances. This person is one that is always going to be there for you through it all. Here are some indicators on how you can tell that you've found "your person":

1. You come as a packaged deal and/or everyone thinks you're in a relationship.

Nine times out of ten, you're always with this person. No matter what it is that you're doing, you're doing it together. Oh, and you're pretty much a part of each other's relationships (if you're in one).

2. She's part of your family, and everyone you're related to, knows so.

Your family considers her to be an addition to the family, as does hers, for you. You're most likely friends on Facebook with some of each other's family members, which is completely and totally normal.

3. She's brutally honest with you, but it's only in your best interest.

Without her honesty, you'd be a hot mess (mentally, emotionally and physically).

4. She knows every single detail about your life and vice versa.

From not enough, to too-much-information, you two know every little thing about each other, whether it was what you ate for breakfast or what you did with that guy the other night. You reach for the phone to text her as soon as something happens in your life that she doesn't know about.

5. Non-verbal communication is your specialty.

Just by looking at each other you know what the other person is thinking or trying to say when words can't be spoken.

6. Without her advice, who knows what dumb decisions you would have made by now.

Because when the opposite is done of what she advised you to do, you think to yourself, "I should've listened." But it's okay, you live and learn. She'll never say, "I told you so."

7. People don't understand you two, when you're talking to each other.

Between the inside jokes and stories, no one ever knows what you're talking about. Most of the time, it's better off that way (for their sake).

8. Nothing is off limits between the two of you.

Literally nothing at all, no matter how graphic.

9. She's always there for you, through it all.

No matter what sucky situation you may be going through, she's there for you 100 percent. Whatever you need, she's got you covered: no ifs, ands, or buts.

10. You'll never have to worry about losing her.

After all, she is "your person" and you two have pretty much been through it all. There's no bump in the road that could ever separate you two.

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
