If you're from New England or anywhere on the northeast coast, you are well aware of the dreadful, everlasting winters that we all encounter every single year. Spring is upon us and yet last week we were hit with another nor'easter. If you're anything like me, snow days can be both a blessing and a curse. I love not having to get up and go to class, but being stuck inside for 1-2 days or more in a row, it's easy to get a case of cabin fever. Here are some things to do if you're stuck in the house for days on end in a snowstorm:

1. Binge watch Netflix.

While it is the most obvious thing to do during the snowstorm, it is essential to catch up on the shows you are watching and binge watch it all day. There is always something to watch, whether it is trying to catch up on 'Shameless' before the seventh season, watching all of 'The Office' again or finding a new documentary to watch. Watching Netflix can make the day go by very quickly.

2. Invite over friends.

If it at all possible, get a bunch of friends together to just hang out. While it may seem boring to just hang around someone's house all day, being with your friends make it a little more tolerable. At least you have something to do or someone to talk to.

3. Catch up on school work.

Depending on the time you have off for the snow, it is the perfect time to catch up on any work that is due within the next few days or weeks so you don't have to worry about it later. All of that stress of the work that you might have to do later will all go away.

4. Break out the board games.

There is nothing more exciting than taking the board games out of the closet and getting your friends and/or family together to play. People are so wrapped up in their electronics that they seem to forget how fun board games can really be.

5. Sleep.

If there is nothing else to do, there is always the option to sleep. Even if all you have done is lay around the house or your dorm room all day, sleeping will make the time pass. And who doesn't love sleep?

6. Embrace the snow.

Anyone that is from New England or Northeast is probably used to the snow and the cold at this point, go outside and jump around in the snow. You might as well have a little bit of fun in the snow, especially it isn't going to go away anytime soon.

7. Cook and/or bake.

Hopefully, if you were smart enough, you went out grocery shopping before the storm so your fridge and cabinets are the filled to the brim with ingredients and snacks. Hop on Pinterest and find some snacks to make to enjoy for the days you are stuck in the house.

8. Read a book.

Whether it is one you have already read or you have found a new series that interests you. Open up the book and dive into a completely different world for a few hours. Not only can it make the time pass a few hours, but you can escape into a sometimes a completely different universe.

9. Clean.

While this may seem like a boring thing to do, sometimes cleaning is the best thing to do when there is nothing else to do. I've always been that person to enjoy cleaning, it's one of those things that I could do all day and not get bored.

10. Have a pajama day.

If there is nothing to do and nowhere to go, there is no reason that you should have to get out of your pajama's. Having a lazy day is something that I think everyone can agree on. Whether it is a blizzard outside or not, hanging around the house in your pajama's it is nice to just relax.

Surviving a few days stuck in the house can be really nice and really annoying at the same time. But if you try any of these things to do, it will make the day go by so much quicker and hopefully you will be able to enjoy your days off.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
