Hopelessness is not a place that anyone wants to stay in. There are some practical ways to get yourself back on top of the situation and return some hope to your heart. Keep reading to see 10 ways to pull yourself out of hopelessness.

1) Faith it till you Make it

Embrace the unknown, as scary as it is. Trust in God, and the path he will lead you down. Always remember He would never hand you a situation you couldn't overcome. As Philippians 4:13 states, "I can do all this through him who gives me strength."

2) Forgive

3) Leave the Past in the Past

4) Surround Yourself with Empowering People

You can't expect others to love you if you don't love yourself. Be kind to yourself and be kind to your body, it is your temple. Surround yourself with people who can help you through this process. Loving yourself takes time, there is no timeline.

6) Escape to the Music

Find a release from your hectic life, whether it entails going to the gym, taking a yoga class a couple times a week, running a mile every day or every other day and building on that, learning how to play a musical instrument, taking dance classes, going to voice lessons, etc. Whatever you choose to do, don't give up on it. Make it part of your lifestyle and hold yourself accountable.

8) Try Healthier Eating Habits

It is scientifically proven that going outside makes you healthier. It increases brain function, it increases Vitamin D, improves concentration, and so much more. Explore, breathe in the fresh air, and be happy.

10) Travel

Find yourself through traveling. It doesn't have to be extravagant or involve a lavish hotel. Focus on you and your happiness. Choose a place that you and your friends would enjoy together. Get out of your comfort zone and try something new!

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

April Ludgate

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
