Spring Break is rolling around, and your friends can't stop talking about the flights they're booking, cars they're renting, activities they're planning... You can't help but think: Where do they get this money from?

It's a natural thought. Everyone claims to be a "broke college student" until spring break rolls around, and all of a sudden they're flying first class to Europe to spend the week in a five-star hotel.

I thought we were in this together.

The great news, however, is that you don't need a ton of money in order to have a good time! Shocking, right?

Here is a list of activities for your spring break that cost no money, so you can keep being your broke-self.

1. Go on a hike

Whether you're in the hills of Hollywood or the valleys of Binghamton, hiking is free, healthy, and trendy. Clear your mind and get out into nature.

2. Read a book

Believe it or not, real books exist. You can find them facilities referred to as libraries, or your local bookstore (if you're willing to spend a buck).

3. Meet strangers

Yes, sketchy. However, worthwhile.

For every 20 strangers you meet, at least one will be normal- not a study, but also probably not too inaccurate. Facebook Influencer, Markian, did exactly that and proved that not all strangers are total creeps. If this doesn't inspire you to make new friends, I don't know what will.

4. Explore Facebook Events

Every day, hundreds of Facebook events are posted and many are completely free. Hit some up and make those connections!

5. Clean out your closet

This one, you might actually be earning money from. You can either put your clothes up on consignment sites or donate them to a shelter- but either way, you will feel so much better getting rid of those clothes that you know you will never wear.

6. Volunteer

You won't know how good this feels until you try it. Give back to the community! There are so many local opportunities available.

7. Binge-Watch a new series

Some type of subscription plan is required for this, but if you already have it you aren't spending anything extra. My personal favorites off Netflix are Black Mirror, The Office, Bates Motel, and American Vandal, to name a few. That should keep you busy!

8. Work on your brand

No, not your uber-successful start-up brand- your personal brand.

Ways to work on this are to make sure you have a clean Google search, and bringing your LinkedIn to the next level.

9. Film a video

Either filming a video is in your niche, or it is totally out of your comfort zone. Either way, it could be a fun new thing to try out!

10. Take photographs

Time goes by too fast to not document everything, and you're going to want to remember the spring break that you spent absolutely no money but still had an amazing time.

By the time you are done knocking off everything on this list, your friends will be back on campus raving about their amazing travels.

You, however, are going to be raving about your full wallet- and what's really better?

Sorority

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
