1. DECORATE YOUR ROOM

When you move in the room is going to look low key like a jail, bring posters, command strips, Christmas lights, washi tape to make cool designs, pictures, anything that makes it your own!!! It will brighten things up and make it easier to be comfortable.

2. BE FRIENDLY

First week is it sooo important to be friendly, many people have the open door idea! Basically everyone has their door open walks around and makes friends. Everyone is in the same boat you are, scared, away from home, and around new people. Don’t worry you’re not alone.

3. GET OUT OF YOUR ROOM

Your building will be holding even along with events around campus, yea they might seem a little cheesy but they usually end up having tons of free stuff and end up being wicked fun. T

4. GET INVOLVED

I can not stress this enough, you know that first week where they do all the club fairs, GO TO THEM! Even if you miss those clubs love new members, show up to a meeting, make friends. If the clubs for you they’ll become a family to you.

5. LEARN WHERE YOUR CLASSES ARE BEFORE HAND

This one might be harder for some depending on school size but it makes a world of a difference, no one wants to walk in late because they couldn’t find what building their class is in. Even if you don’t find out the room number, find the building, there's half the battle.

6. EXPLORE YOUR NEW CITY

If you’re like me you probably go to school in a new city in a different part of the state, which means you have no idea where anything is. Go out with your roommate(s) and check it out! You might even find your new coffee spot!

7. BE OPEN TO NEW THINGS

You’re going to college now and diversity is key so you might hear/see views, languages, music, or styles that differ your own. Keep that in mind, don’t shut others out because they’re different, they could end up being your best friend.

8.GO TO SPORTING EVENTS!

My college doesn’t have football but that doesn’t kill our spirit, rugby games are tons of fun, any sporting event usually is. Heck I wouldn’t be able to tell you anything about the rules of rugby but the games are fun regardless.

9. GET THE SCHOOL ''SWAG''

Buy that school sweatshirt you've earned it. You worked your butt off to be here be proud to wear your college stuff, warning it will take over your closet.

10. LASTLY HAVE FUN!

This is going to be the best yet quickest 4 years of your life, don’t let is just pass you by! Try new things! Be the best you, you can be!

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
