It is January and that means the start of the second semester for college students everywhere. Last semester may have been rough, or you may have had a great first semester, either way, here are 10 ways to get those A's this semester!
1. Go to class! Some professors count attendance towards your grade, and going to class allows you to learn the material!
2. Buy the textbooks. Yes, I know, college textbook are hardly ever priced decently, but sometimes the textbook becomes your best friend.
3. Try to avoid 8 am classes. You know that you will struggle getting out of bed for the classes at this time, and you probably won't show up. Why schedule if you aren't going to show up?!
4.. Read the textbooks. After you buy the textbooks, don't let them sit on your desk all semester long. Actually pick it up and read. You will be surprised at how much information you can learn and how much easier something becomes after reading the material!
5. Do not go out in the middle of the week. I know that sometimes you just need a break and want to go out with some friends to have a good time, but doing this in the middle of the week may make you lazy and not focus on school work anymore for that week.
6. Take notes in your class. Instead of being on Snapchat or Facebook for the entire class, take notes. You will be amazed at the results you get from taking notes! They will help you prepare for an exam and some professors even let you use notes on your exams!
7. Talk to your professor. If you are not understanding something or need help on an assignment, go talk to your professor. They are there to help you and that is why they have office hours.
8. Find a friend or friends in each class to study with. Sometimes studying with friends helps you learn better or get more prepared for your upcoming exam.
9. DO NOT WAIT UNTIL THE LAST MINUTE TO DO YOUR ASSIGNMENTS! Waiting until the last minute will not only cause you to have a breakdown, but will also cause you to start having some grade issues.
10. Attend tutoring sessions. Do not feel ashamed to attend tutoring sessions. They are there to help you out if you are struggling with a class!
Above are just a few of many ways to help you succeed this semester and get those A's! Study hard and have fun, you will be sure to see the success!
