10 Ways To Get In Shape
Style Me B.A.D.

Getting in shape means hitting the gym and eating healthy foods, right? Sure, that's one way to look at it, but there are other things that need taken care of besides your body. You, for example. You are the most important person who needs taken care of. Here are 10 ways to get yourself in shape.

1. Love yourself.

You are beautiful whether you are four-feet tall or six-feet tall. You're beautiful whether you're a size zero or a size 16. No matter what your shape or size, you are beautiful just the way you are.

2. Wear what YOU want.

People are going to tell you that this, that and the other thing about what bathing suit or outfit you choose to wear. No matter what you wear, people are always going to have their opinion, so wear what you want and what makes you feel good. Wear what makes you feel confident. Wear something that makes you feel like you can conquer the world. You are in charge of your life, no one else.

3. Always bring along a smile.

No matter what, always smile. Even if you're not happy, smiling will make you feel better. Show the world that you're very happy with who you are and you don't need anyone to tell you otherwise.

4. Laugh.

Laughter truly is the best medicine. It reduces your stress levels and boosts your mood. Laughter makes you happier. When everything in your life is giving you a reason to cry, look for that one positive reason to laugh and you'll almost instantly feel better.

5. Be yourself.

Be yourself! Quite possibly one of the most important ways to get in shape for summer. There is no one out there exactly like you. Trying to be someone that you're not is a waste of time and energy. There's nothing fun about putting on a front and pretending you're someone else when you are amazing just the way you are.

6. Follow your dreams.

Not only should you follow them, you should chase them. Make sure your time is well spent. Spend it chasing your dreams. If your dream is to be able to do a front flip, get out there and practice (safely, of course). If your dream is to be an actress, get out there and act. You can do anything you set your heart to if you really get out there and try. Make your dream a reality.

7. Think positively.

Negative thoughts and feelings are a waste of energy and time as is hatred. Spend your time and energy on happiness. Start your day by thinking one positive thought, and continue that trend for the rest of the day. When you get angry or upset, take a moment, breathe and think of the other ways you could be spending your time and energy. You could be spending that time and energy being happy or having fun.

8. Start everyday with a purpose.

How you start your day can determine your mood for the rest of the day, so start your day with a purpose. Have a goal in mind. If you start your day with a plan, you're less likely to feel anxious or like you've wasted your day. Your goal can be something as small as getting an A on your history test or something as large as spending the whole day being happy and doing things that make you happy. If you start the day with a purpose and make it a goal, you'll end your day feeling like you've accomplished something. You'll end your day happier and more confident.

9. Surround yourself with good people.

Surround yourself with people who lift you up. Surround yourself with people who make you happy, with people who are happy. You become like the people you surround yourself with, so make sure you consider that when choosing friends.

10. Do what makes you happy.

There is nothing more important than your happiness and no one has the right to take your happiness away from you. Make sure that everything you do makes you happy. Happiness is often accompanied by laughter and smiles.

Have fun getting you into shape this time.

In honor of Mother’s Day, I have been thinking of all the things my mom does for my family and me. Although I couldn’t write nearly all of them, here are a few things that moms do for us.

They find that shirt that’s right in front of you, but just you can’t seem to find.

10 Reasons To Thank Your Best Friend

Take the time to thank that one friend in your life you will never let go of.

Thank You on wooden blocks

1. Thank you for being the one I can always count on to be honest.

A true friend will tell you if the shirt is ugly, or at least ask to borrow it and "accidentally" burn it.

2. Thank you for accepting me for who I am.

A best friend will love you regardless of the stale french fries you left on the floor of your car, or when you had lice in 8th grade and no one wanted to talk to you.

Do as I say, not as I do.

Your eyes widen in horror as you stare at your phone. Beads of sweat begin to saturate your palm as your fingers tremble in fear. The illuminated screen reads, "Missed Call: Mom."

Growing up with strict parents, you learn that a few things go unsaid. Manners are everything. Never talk back. Do as you're told without question. Most importantly, you develop a system and catch on to these quirks that strict parents have so that you can play their game and do what you want.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!
