It's that time of the year again! Back to school season is here! Now that we're heading back to school, everyone is going to have those struggles of heading to class their first week and trying to find their classes. Worry not, however, as here I'll share some things to help calm those back to school jitters!
1. Show Up Early For Those Classes.
Showing up early will let you pick out the best seat in class. Choosing where you feel most comfortable sitting in the class will help you feel a bit calmer when you show up. Sitting in the same seat for at least the first 2 weeks will let people know that's your seat.
2. Be As Organized As Possible.
Being organized will prevent you from freaking out. It lets you be prepared for anything anyone tires to spring on you. Oh we starting the lessons today already? Worry not, at least I have my notebooks ready.
3. Gather Your Squad And Walk To Class Together.
Walking with your friends the first couple days to class will make the whole ordeal a lot more relaxing. That way you're not the only one looking lost trying to find your classes.
4. Remember To Eat.
Sometimes eating will help your body physically remain calm and keep from freaking out on you for not eating. But remember not to overeat!
5. Remember To Sleep Too.
A good night's sleep does a world of help. Keeping a good sleeping habit will make you rested and ready for the day of classes ahead. Bad sleep will make you irritated and more likely to freak out.
6. Bring Mementos From Home.
A good environment at your new dorm will help bring you a bit of peace and calm when you surround yourself with familiarity. ( Don't hoard and bring your whole life with you though!) And for commuters, a picture on your binder of your summer trip or something small to carry around will help!
7. Call In For Reinforcements.
Calling home will always help calm nerves and set you at ease. Friends, family, significant other, whoever they may be just have a funny way of doing that. Shooting them a call or text is never a bad idea.
8. Pintrest Is Always A Good Idea.
For those moments when you don't know what you're doing, Pinterest is always a good idea to try and find solutions. A little creativity may inspire you.
9. Join Clubs.
Requires you to be a bit social but totally worth it in the long run. Networking, new friends, and something to do to keep your mind off classes.
10. When All Else Fails, Nap!
Remember to take time to breathe in between and after classes. Be it hanging out with friends, time on your own, or whatever helps you relax remember there's no need to stress. You will get through it!
