The most stressful part of school is grades and how that will affect your GPA. Constantly worrying and stressing about the grades you receive only makes it worse. Be the best student that you can possibly be in order to ensure that you will be successful. In order to help you out with that, here are 10 ways to ensure success in any class you take:

1. Show up to class.

Going to class is the most important factor. Being in class every day helps because the professor provides notes, creates discussion, and even the students in your class can provide helpful tips if you do not understand a topic. This also proves that you want to learn and are serious about being successful.

2. Ask questions.

If there is a topic up for discussion in class and you do not understand it do not be afraid to ask. You can either ask questions during class or go and speak to your professor privately.

3. Take notes.

Notes are an amazing tool because you can always go back and look over them. They are also useful for studying, helping a student if they are struggling, or if you just need a refresher on a certain topic.

4. Buy or rent the books assigned.

Books are very expensive, I know that. Try your best to find the book for the cheapest you can but do not go the whole semester without the book. In most cases, the books are very useful and help reinforce what the professor teaches in class.

5. Read all the material assigned.

Professors assign books and other pieces for a reason. Do not try to get away with ignoring the material and not reading it. Just remember, there is always a reason a professor is assigning something in class.

6. Check-in with your professor.

Do not go the whole semester without going to speak with your professor. They are there to help you and guide you. They want to make sure you are benefiting from their class. Professors do not want you to fail.

7. Participate in every class.

Do not sit in class day in and day out and not say a single word. Believe it or not professors want to hear from you. They want to hear your thoughts and want you to be involved by asking questions. Participation also proves to the professor that you are paying attention in class, reading the material assigned, and want to do well.

8. Read the syllabus and mark every date in your calendar.

In college, you want to be ahead of every assignment. Professors want you to pay attention to the syllabus and give you plenty of time to prepare. It is on you to know when papers are due and when tests are. Paying attention to important dates helps you know what to expect throughout the class.

9. Do not wait until the last minute to study.

Tests, midterms, finals, and papers are all planned in advance. Waiting until the day before any of these are is the absolute worst idea. There is a lot of material covered each semester. Leave enough time to go back and look at your notes, reread the readings, and to go to professor and ask any questions you may have.

10. Be organized.

Organization is key. Make sure assignments are turned in on time and homework is complete. Keep a planner and write down every single assignment and go back to make sure it is completed. Professors do not take excuses, make sure your work is done and turned in on time.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
