Summer 2016 is FLYING by and I feel like I've barely been able to check anything off my summer bucket list! In honor of the month of August approaching we wanted to make a list of the TOP 10 THINGS you MUST do before the summer is over! We hope you totally make the most of what is left of this summer!

1. Time to Figure Out Your Eyebrow Situation!

We recently heard from a very reliable source who is part of the elite community in Upper Manhattan (sorry, can't mention any names) that the newest fashion frenzy is to have each of your eyebrows dyed contrasting colors. (blue and orange, red and green, etc.)

2. Netfilx and Chill!

We don't we mean that kind of chill...by chill we mean becoming a Netflix expert. We all enjoy spending rainy days watching Netflix. Our Summer goal for you? Spend EVERY day watching Netflix. Earn your Netflix and Chill blackbelt by watching every movie, episode AND documentary that Netflix has to offer. Even if it means not sleeping until September, you got this gurl! Besides, it's the perfect way to keep on Grey's drama, 24/7!

3. DIY All Day!

The DIY phenomenon has been around for a few years now, seems to be in full swing this summer. Want to truly express your self before August ends? Renovate your entire house! Start by ripping out the foundation and walls, and see where your creative mind takes you! Try looking on Pinterest for ideas, especially when it comes to new plumbing!

4. Reach Your Goal Weight!

Remember that adorable Scooby Doo bathing suit you used to wear when you were 6? Why not use that as your new goal bathing suit! It is completely possible to lose half of your body weight in the two month span of summer! You can do it, girly! Don't let haters get you down! #thighgap

5. Travel!

Summer is the perfect time to really travel, since you are most likely NOT in school right now, it's time to get some stamps in that passport! This month you should make a goal to step foot on all seven continents! I hear Antarctica is beautiful this time of year -- bonus points for a selfie with a penguin! #Wanderlust #NotAllWhoWanderAreLost

6. Learn a language!

Being educated is all the rage these days. Girls who go global are girls who have major leadership potential. Being multi-lingual is extremely impressive while job hunting. Try learning an entire language this Summer! The most practical to learn? Elvish, Pig-Latin and Dolphin. Plus, it's an excuse to start chatting it up with that cute exchange student this Fall ;)

7. Find Out Who Your True Friends Are!

A new school year is exciting! A time for new crushes and new secrets! You definitely want to know who your TRUE friends are! The easiest way to do this would be to fake your own death. This will allow you to find out who would leak all your secrets and, more importantly, who actually hated you the whole time. Your funeral would be a great time to confront the fake friends and let everyone else know you were just playing a joke.

8. Fix Your Budget!

You ever get a brand new paycheck and 20 minutes later wonder where the entire thing went? Saving money is important but can be difficult. We have a simple solution to that! This summer try cutting back on some things that might be swindling your bank account! To start, try not showering for the rest of the summer! This will help you cut back on shampoo, soap & even the water bill! Also, try reusing all of your paper napkins & plates as many times as possible! You're now saving money and becoming an eco-friendly hottie!

9. FINALLY talk to your crush!

We all know you've been eyeing that dreamboat for months. As September approaches, time is running out. Now is the time to make your move, woman! Break the ice by bringing a water bowl. Still not getting the hint? Try giving him his favorite treats or a belly rub. Once your summer fling heats up, be bold by letting him stick his head the window while you're driving ;)

10. Become The Ultimate Lady Boss!

Girlfriend, it is time to shine and let the rest of the world see who you really are! We know you've been thinking about that small, developing country for sometime now and, lets be real, who doesn't want to become the ultimate ruler of an entire nation!? Let your inner dictator come out to play! It is time to show everyone what you are made of, taking over a country is the perfect way to do that! Do not let anything stop you, remember, GIRL POWER!

We hope that this list inspires you to have the BEST SUMMER EVER!

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."

It’s here; that time of year when college students turn into preschoolers again. We cry for our mothers, eat everything in sight, and whine when we don’t get our way. It’s finals, the dreaded time of the semester when we all realize we should have been paying attention in class instead of literally doing anything else but that. Everyone has to take them, and yes, unfortunately, they are inevitable. But just because they are here and inevitable does not mean they’re peaches and cream and full of rainbows.
