College brings a wide range of opportunities to the table that you would have never imagined being possible before. Each day is vastly different from the last. Though you may have never realized it, one yellow sponge has already done a lot of the things that you find yourself experiencing at college today. Except for maybe living in a pineapple under the sea.

1. Making New Friends
Everyone knows the struggle of meeting new people for the first time and trying to appear as normal as possible. After all, first impressions are everything.

2. Discussing Your Career
The only question worse than, "How is school?" and "What is your major?" are the ones that involve what you plan to do after you graduate. Everyone wants to know what types of internships and jobs you have. It can be hard to know what outfit to wear out on the weekend, let alone what your future career will be for the rest of your life.

3. To Do Lists
Even Spongebob likes to stay organized. He is well aware of the pain that occurs when you make a list of things you need to accomplish in only 24 hours.

4. Writing Papers
At least once in your life you receive an essay assignment that is nearly impossible to write. Hours pass and you feel like you have made so much progress only to realize that your paper looks like this...

5. The Constant Desire For Pizza
For those times when you just want to make it home to eat your pizza, but your friend is slightly distracted.

6. Catching The Bus
When you are just trying to make it home but the bus is never on time, or it is pulling away from the stop.

7. Cleaning Your Room
After weeks of waiting for the right time, you decide that you should maybe attempt to clean your room.

8. Driving Over Breaks
After months of being at school and only using Uber, you may be a little rusty on your driving skills.

9. Laughing At Inappropriate Times
When you get to your class on the first day and find out that your best friend is there. From that moment on you know the rest of your class time is going to be dedicated to trying to hold in your laughter about inside jokes.

10. Having The Best Roommate
At the end of the day, you know you always have your roommate there to help you with anything and talk with.

Spongebob taught us what it would be like to be young adults without us even knowing it. Next time you are struggling to write a paper or clean your room, just remember that if Spongebob can do it, so can you.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. Finals week is upon us. It is a magical time of year during which college students everywhere flock to the library in attempt to learn a semester's worth of knowledge in only a week. For some students, it's their first time in the library all semester, maybe ever. Others have slaved away many nights under the fluorescent lights, and are slightly annoyed to find their study space being invaded by amateurs. While these newbies wander aimlessly around the first floor, hopelessly trying to find a table, the OGs of the library are already on the third floor long tables deep into their studies.
