During this time of year, the weather starts to become a tease with a warm breeze one day and a chilling wind the next. Swimsuit ads start to crowd our minds; while hopes of soon being able to go outside without ten layers become more of a plea than a request. Here are some ways to help you get ready for summer!
1. What's your status on swimsuits?
This is some of the most stressful shopping to do as a female in this day and age. If your dad is anything like mine, he does not appreciate the direction that the swimsuit world is headed in. The idea that it is socially acceptable to walk around with your unmentionables showing is not one that my father claims to approve. Whatever the case, select a swimsuit that you are comfortable in.
2. Work on that tan!
Willingness to accept the fact that God did not bless me with the skin of a brazilian sun goddess is something that I have had to face. I may never be able to see true tan lines, but that does not mean that I am limited to being viewed as the flash of light in pictures. From airbrush tans to loads of bronzer, the world is my oyster. If you are a sun kissed beauty, then, keep it up but know that skin cancer is a real thing. Us, pearl skinned beauties will help rub in the wrinkle cream.
3. Where is your beach bod?
There are an abundance of workout routines and diets that ladies place themselves on to formulate their beach body. Some of them are very outlandish and unhealthy. I recommend sticking to a regular workout route and healthy foods to achieve the desired look. But no matter how you look in your two piece, know you are beautiful and alterations are not needed.
4. What's in your wardrobe?
From sun dresses to that perfect pair of cutoffs, every girl needs her summer wardrobe to be as smashing as her personality. Have an assortment of clothing for every occasion!
5. Planning is everything!
Unplanned day trips are expected during the summer season, but it is important to plan when necessary! Week long trips to the beach or a cross country vacation with friends need to be strategically orchestrated. The main part of this is making sure that you have enough money to participate in all of the amazing opportunities your adventures will provide.
