1. He does not drive an automatic, he drives a standard. If you know what I am talking about, then you are definitely dating a country boy.

2. His truck or Jeep is battle ready, and by battle ready I mean mudding ready. The amount of joy they have when they see mud all over their vehicle is indescribable.

3. It isn’t “Mom” and “Dad,” it’s “Mama” and “Daddy.” You know it’s cute when they say it, too.

4. He has guns like you have shoes. Shooting targets and gun shells go a long way for gift ideas. Also, if you know who the artist is in the picture and what music video this photo was taken from, because your man showed it to you, then you are definitely dating a country boy.

5. Beer, whiskey and sweet tea are his go to drinks. If you were not much of a beer or whiskey girl before, you probably are now.

6. You know you cannot plan trips or any other activities during football and hunting season. My dad always told me that I am not allowed to get married during the fall because he will either be hunting or at a football game.

7. You sometimes have to fight for affection when his dog is around. There are probably some instances when he compliments his dog more than you.

8. Belt buckles and boots are his fashion essentials. Some of the belt buckles are really handy. There is one that can hide a flask.

9. Your man is a better baker than you are. My country man makes the best apple pie I have ever had.

10. Darlin” is your second name, to him. You have to admit, it’s cute when they call you it, too, because of their southern drawl.
