10 Ways You Know You Attend Peru State College

Peru State College is known for many different things, from our many oak trees to our reputation as one of the best schools for future teachers. But what makes us students stand out? What makes it obvious you're a Peru student? It's almost as simple as having it written on your forehead. But in case you're having a hard time pinpointing what makes you an obvious Peru student, here are a few specifics describing ways you know you go to Peru State College.

1. Wednesdays have become annual grilled cheese for lunch days.

"On Wednesdays, we eat grilled cheese."

2. If you own at least 50 shades of blue, you know you go to Peru State!

"If you're blushing, you might go to Peru State."

3. When the town's population decreases by 80% when campus closes.

(Towns People) - "...it's so quiet around here in the summertime and during Christmas, but I just can't put my finger on why it gets this way."

4. No matter where you go, you always run into someone you know.

You've met and will meet a lot of great people.. but seeing them 5 different times in one day seems to get a bit overwhelming.

5. When the professors know you skipped because the class sizes are so small.

Remember on the syllabus where it said "syllabus is subject to change at any time during the year?" Well, that time is today because the professor knows you skipped, POP QUIZ!

6. If you have made late night snacking, (Night at the Bob) an every night outing.

Freshman 15? That was so first semester! Let's just multiply that by 2.

7. When you know at least 10 Education Majors.

"What are you majoring in?"

"I'm an education major!"

"Oh, no way, me too!"

8. If you understand the struggle of wearing 4 layers of clothing during complex/campus walks in the winter.

Better grab a coat.. or three! You know what, I'll just bring a blanket as well.

9. When your roommates turn into family.

Through the good and the bad you keep remembering that you can't chose your family and although they aren't blood, after a year of living with them, you couldn't imagine them as only friends.

10. Last but not least, you know you go to Peru State when you've loved your unique experience so much that you can't wait to return!

It's about time summer is over! Peru State College is our home away from home!

To My Loving Boyfriend,

  • Thank you for all that you do for me
  • Thank you for working through disagreements with me
  • Thank you for always supporting me
  • I appreciate you more than words can express
  • You have helped me grow and become a better person
  • I can't wait to see where life takes us next
  • I promise to cherish every moment with you
  • Thank you for being my best friend and confidante
  • I love you and everything you do

To start off, here's something I don't say nearly enough: thank you. Thank you, thank you, thank you from the bottom of my heart. You do so much for me that I can't even put into words how much I appreciate everything you do - and have done - for me over the course of our relationship so far. While every couple has their fair share of tiffs and disagreements, thank you for getting through all of them with me and making us a better couple at the other end. With any argument, we don't just throw in the towel and say we're done, but we work towards a solution that puts us in a greater place each day. Thank you for always working with me and never giving up on us.

Ah, yes, good old Hauppauge. We are that town in the dead center of Long Island that barely anyone knows how to pronounce unless they're from the town itself or live in a nearby area. Hauppauge is home to people of all kinds. We always have new families joining the community but honestly, the majority of the town is filled with people who never leave (high school alumni) and elders who have raised their kids here. Around the town, there are some just some landmarks and places that only the people of Hauppauge will ever understand the importance or even the annoyance of.

Tamatoa created a liar filled with shiny things simply for the purpose of tricking fish to enter and become his food. He too experiences a lesson in how easy it is to be tricked by shiny things when Moana distracts him by covering herself in glowing algae so Maui can grab his hook.
