The semester is coming to an end, which means finals week is coming up. If you’re like most people, you’re probably concerned about doing well. It’s all too easy to lose your cool and let stress get to you, but there are things you can do leading up to your exams to give yourself an edge over your exams.

1. Take some deep breaths

This will allow oxygen to get to your brain and body.

2. Empty your mind

Focus on the present and nothing else.

3. Exercise

It isn’t good to spend every spare moment studying, so you may as well be useful with your time.

4. Sleep well the night before

Your brain rests and recharges during sleep, which is essential before an exam where it will be heavily used.

5. Eat healthy snacks

You can reward yourself with junk food after you’re done.

6. Pace your time

Nothing will make you more anxious than waiting until the last minute to study. If you study a little every day leading up to the exam, then you’ll feel prepared.

7. Pet an animal

Studies suggest that playing with a dog or cat can lower blood pressure, reduce your heart rate, and elevate your mood.

8. Take a warm shower

A shower can increase blood flow, which may reduce pain and stress.

9. Write about it

Writing about your feelings can be cathartic.

10. Sing some songs

Singing releases endorphins, which can help reduce stress.

"Friends" maybe didn’t have everything right or realistic all the time, but they did have enough episodes to create countless reaction GIFs and enough awesomeness to create, well, the legacy they did. Something else that is timeless, a little rough, but memorable? Living away from the comforts of home. Whether you have an apartment, a dorm, your first house, or some sort of residence that is not the house you grew up in, I’m sure you can relate to most of these!

There is nothing quite like family.

Family is kinda like that one ex that you always find yourself running back to (except without all the regret and the angsty breakup texts that come along with it).

No matter how long your class is, there's always time for the mind to wander. Much like taking a shower or trying to fall asleep, sitting in a classroom can be a time when you get some of your best ideas. But, more than likely, you're probably just trying to mentally cope with listening to a boring lecturer drone on and on. Perhaps some of the following Aristotle-esque thoughts have popped into your head during class.

Bob's Burgers is arguably one of the best and most well-written shows on tv today. That, and it's just plain hilarious. From Louise's crazy antics to Tina's deadpan self-confidence, whether they are planning ways to take over school or craft better burgers, the Belchers know how to have fun. They may not be anywhere close to organized or put together, but they do offer up some wise words once and awhile.
