Here are a few things that show that Daria and I are the same person.

1. Daria doesn’t care what people think.

And it’s 2016, neither do I. I never really did, but I really couldn't care less these days about who is judging me or looking at me a weird way. Regardless of whether they take their time to care, I’m not going to waste my time doing the same.

2. Daria wears the same thing every day.

I pretty much wear the same outfit constantly and if I’m not, I’m probably washing it or it’s dirty -- too dirty to wear for a fiftieth time. And the fact that she also doesn’t care what people think about that. At times, she does care to change what she is wearing, but it never really sticks.

3. Daria loves everything pizza.

And pizza, of all things, is the most important. Pizza toppings can even declare how compatible you are with your boyfriend or significant other.

4. Daria doesn’t like leaving the house at all, for any reason.

Except to get pizza with Jane because that is important. Oh, and to go to school.

5. The first boyfriend she has, she becomes an emotional wreck over.

She doesn’t know what to do and how to deal with the pressures of a relationship. The pressures of being in a relationship with a guy who isn’t a virgin like she is.

6. Daria is also a writer.

I am a writer. We are one. She submitted her writing to a journal and got rejected and she felt like she was never going to write or submit a writing piece again and I feel that way a lot. She was even asked to write a short story in class for an assignment because she already read the book they were reading in class. Not only is she a writer, but she's a creative writer, and that's exactly what I am. Just when you thought I was trying to force myself to be like Daria.

7. Daria wants her only friend to stay her friend.

And, when that friend starts branching out and doing other things she gets scared that she is getting replaced and she doesn’t like feeling that way. I only have a few friends and I feel the same way.

8. Daria wears glasses and if that’s not enough reason...

...she can’t see for crap without those glasses, and neither can I. Although, I’ve never hit a dog before.

9. I own the series DVD set.

-- that I watch at least once a week, and recite it word for word.

10. And lastly, she feels like a black sheep like I do.

She feels like she doesn’t belong in her family. She found the one friend that accepted her, and she has tried her hardest to not let that go and let her stray away. She deals with people who are like her in life, and she deals with the pressures of school and college and she is still Daria. She stays true to herself and what she stands for, and she never alters that for anyone. Which is why I like Daria, because she is someone who will always be the same. She will try new things, but ultimately she will always be Daria.

Dear Mom,

You took care of me and my brothers our entire lives and you still continue to! I will not be able to truly grasp all of the hard work that you put into this family until I create my own one day. But, I know that there are plenty of times I forgot to give you a simple thank you or an appreciative smile. I thank you for everything that you have done for me and will continue to do for me. Here are some examples of those times where you had my back and I forgot to pat your back for saving me:

College is hard. As people ages 18-22, we’re just trying to figure out what we’re doing with our lives, our careers, our eating habits, exercise routines, sleep patterns, and other necessities for adult life. We definitely don’t take proper care of ourselves; it’s basically impossible when we have essays, tests and readings due and somehow we’re supposed to eat right, exercise and sleep. We’re doomed to get sick. I have zero experience in science but when I get sick there are certain things I do to make myself better.

Now that it seems “talking” is the new way to date, and will stay that way until another idiotic term is used to describe the people who can’t settle down and just date someone, I feel as if it’s time to go over the unwritten rules of “talking.”

Rule 1. Having feeling without feeling.
