So your 21st birthday is coming up and you’re trying to figure out what to do and how to celebrate in a way that is so you. Whether you like to drink or not, there are so many ways to celebrate and make it a birthday to remember.

1. Party and drink up!

Now that you’re legal, you can definitely take advantage if it. And what’s more fun than spending the night with great friends? So, turn up the music, pour yourself a drink, and party hard.

2. Go out to a classy dinner with your friends

What girl (or guy, for that matter) doesn’t like to get dressed up every now and then? If you’re planning on celebrating your 21st birthday, make reservations at a classy restaurant, put on your favorite dress and heels, do your makeup, and order a drink. One of the best parts, aside from celebrating in a way you’ll remember, is being able to show you’re 21 when you get asked for ID.

3. Spend the day with one of your closest friends

Go to the mall, get your nails done, get coffee, and do some window shopping. This is what I did and I had a great time. Not only was I able to spend time with a friend I love, but I was also able to get some TLC by getting my nails done then bragging about it on Snapchat. This made for a fun afternoon.

4. Go out to dinner with your family

I did this, too, and had a great time. Especially if you’re in college, you might not get to see your family that often. Sometimes, family dinners out can be a lot of fun. Plus, you get to order yourself a drink and eat a delicious dinner without having to worry about paying for it.

5. Set up camp at a coffee shop and write

At most coffee shops, if you mention it’s your birthday, you’ll get some kind of discount. And if you’re someone who loves to write and loves coffee, what better way to celebrate your birthday than combining the two? Take your laptop, order a coffee, and write away.

6. Do some online shopping

Life is so crazy these days. We’re always being pulled here and there and we seemingly never have time for ourselves. So if you don’t have plans, make time for yourself. Instead of going out and going shopping, go on a shopping spree from the comfort of your own home. Just make sure you find ways around paying for shipping.

7. Take a friend and go bar hopping

First of all, never do this alone—not in today’s world. Bar hopping can be fun, but it’s definitely more fun when you’re legal and don’t have to worry about getting caught. So take at least one friend and visit the bars and have a great time.

8. Make it a karaoke night

If you don’t feel like bar hopping, go with a friend to a bar that is hosting a karaoke night. Get up on that stage and belt out your favorite song. Make sure your friend is on photo duty—you’ll most likely get some pictures that will tell the story later.

9. Learn about the art of mixing drinks

This is always a good skill to have and your 21st birthday bash provides the perfect setting for learning how to do this. Your friends will thank you later.

10. Have your friends make the plans

Take the day off and let your friends plan how to celebrate your birthday. If they’re good friends, they’ll know what you like and what you think would be fun. Sit back, relax and trust your friends.

Of course, there are so many ways you could celebrate. And if any of these ideas aren’t up your alley, hopefully, they’ll inspire some plans for how to celebrate your big day.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

These powerful lyrics remind us how much good is inside each of us and that sometimes we are too blinded by our imperfections to see the other side of the coin, to see all of that good.

Every Girl Needs To Listen To 'She Used To Be Mine' By Sara Bareilles

The song was sent to me late in the middle of the night. I was still awake enough to plug in my headphones and listen to it immediately. I always did this when my best friend sent me songs, never wasting a moment. She had sent a message with this one too, telling me it reminded her so much of both of us and what we have each been through in the past couple of months.

Zodiac wheel with signs and symbols surrounding a central sun against a starry sky.

What's your sign? It's one of the first questions some of us are asked when approached by someone in a bar, at a party or even when having lunch with some of our friends. Astrology, for centuries, has been one of the largest phenomenons out there. There's a reason why many magazines and newspapers have a horoscope page, and there's also a reason why almost every bookstore or library has a section dedicated completely to astrology. Many of us could just be curious about why some of us act differently than others and whom we will get along with best, and others may just want to see if their sign does, in fact, match their personality.

Being a good person does not depend on your religion or status in life, your race or skin color, political views or culture. It depends on how good you treat others.

We are all born to do something great. Whether that be to grow up and become a doctor and save the lives of thousands of people, run a marathon, win the Noble Peace Prize, or be the greatest mother or father for your own future children one day. Regardless, we are all born with a purpose. But in between birth and death lies a path that life paves for us; a path that we must fill with something that gives our lives meaning.
