It's that time of the year for college students. The big papers and projects that we've known about all semester and have procrastinated completing are due. The constant nights of staying up until 3 in the morning bowling and watching Netflix have begun to take their toll.

We are exhausted. We are stressed. We don't understand why school even has to be a thing.

Thankfully, there is One who is bigger than all of our stress and our inability to actually do homework as soon as we find out about it.

And the really cool thing is He left us this book full of wisdom and guidance. We just have to open its pages and discern the knowledge that God has for us.

So, as we enter this hectic part of the semester, here are some Bible verses that have helped and encouraged me. My prayer is that they will uplift you and provide you with truth as you conquer the next few weeks.

1. Philippians 4:6-7

Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank Him for all He has done. Then you will experience God’s peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus.

2. John 14:27

Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.

3. Matthew 6:34

So don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.

4. Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all your heart; do not depend on your own understanding. Seek His will in all you do, and He will show you which path to take.

5. Matthew 11:28-30

Then Jesus said, “Come to Me, all of you who are weary and carry heavy burdens, and I will give you rest.Take My yoke upon you. Let Me teach you, because I am humble and gentle at heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For My yoke is easy to bear, and the burden I give you is light.”

6. 1 Peter 5:6-7

So humble yourselves under the mighty power of God, and at the right time He will lift you up in honor.Give all your worries and cares to God, for He cares about you.

7. Psalm 62:5

Let all that I am wait quietly before God, for my hope is in Him.

8. Psalm 46:10

Be still, and know that I am God! I will be honored by every nation. I will be honored throughout the world.

9. Psalm 4:8

In peace I will lie down and sleep, for You alone, O Lord, will keep me safe.

10. Jeremiah 31:25

I will refresh the weary and satisfy the faint.

Rest in the promises of the Lord. Lean entirely on Him to support you through this semester. Even if you aren't a college student, trust in the Lord to strengthen you and uphold you during whatever you are going through.

He loves you. He sees you. He cares for you. Trust in Him to see you through.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.
