Inspired by the Samantha, Charlotte, and Miranda to my Carrie.

The smash hit series Sex and the City introduced women everywhere to the friend group of all friend groups. Each member of the famous quartet is entirely different yet very similar in many ways. Although it is absolutely hilarious and provocative at times, there are many significant life lessons we can take away from every aspect of these women’s lives.

Here are a few of the many examples:

1. Opposites attract

Sometimes the best of friends are a combination of people who have absolutely nothing in common, and that’s okay. It’s what keeps you guessing and always keeps you laughing.

“Maybe we can be each other’s soul mates.”-Charlotte York

2. It’s Important to love yourself

No one in the world knows you like you do. You are one of a kind, the original version of something truly unique.

“The most exciting, challenging and significant relationship of all is the one you have with yourself. And if you find someone to love the you that you love, well, that’s just fabulous.”-Carrie Bradshaw

3. Everything happens for a reason

No matter how many times you face disappointment, keep reminding yourself that what is meant to be will always work out in the end.

“As we drive along this road called life, occasionally a gal will find herself a little lost. And when that happens, I guess she has to let go of the coulda, shoulda, woulda, buckle up and just keep going.”-Carrie Bradshaw

4. Own it

Do what makes you happy and never apologize for it. You were made to be yourself and no one else.

“If I worried what every bitch in New York was saying about me, I’d never leave the house.”-Samantha Jones

5. Staying in is never the wrong answer

You don’t have to go out to have fun. Sometimes Chinese food and a movie on New Year’s Eve is all you need.

“Do any of you have a completely unremarkable friend or maybe a houseplant I could go to dinner with on Saturday night?”-Miranda Hobbes

6. Neither is going out

When is letting loose and having a good time ever a bad idea? The answer is never, especially when you’re surrounded by your favorite people.

“Maybe some women aren’t meant to be tamed. Maybe they’re supposed to run wild until they find someone just as wild, to run with.”-Carrie Bradshaw

7. Eventually, you have to move on

As hard as it may be sometimes, it’s important to realize that sometimes things don’t always work out the way you plan. The only way to better the situation is to keep moving forward.

“Maybe the past is like an anchor holding us back. Maybe, you have to let go of who you were to become who you will be.”-Carrie Bradshaw

8. There’s nothing wrong with being single

Independence will never go out of style. There is something to be said for a woman who can stand on her own while feeling confident that she is worthy of everything out there and more.

“Being single used to mean that nobody wanted you. Now it means you’re pretty sexy and you’re taking your time deciding how you want your life to be and who you want to spend it with.”-Carrie Bradshaw

9. Confidence is key

There is nothing more attractive than someone who is truly confident in themselves and their abilities. Obviously there is a line between confident and cocky, but no one likes people who constantly look for confirmation from others.

“I love you but I love me more.”-Samantha Jones

10. Don’t take your friends for granted

Your true friends will always be your biggest fans. They have been there through all of the highs and lows, first and lasts, and so much more that you have yet to experience together. Never forget that they’re always on your side.

“They say nothing lasts forever; dreams change, trends come and go, but friendships never go out of style.”-Carrie Bradshaw

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
