This world is home to so many incredible destinations that have yet to be overrun by tourists. Inspired by a Buzzfeed post about the world's best travel destinations, I've found a few hidden spots around the globe. From hidden beaches to the only place you can swim between two continents, here's your new travel bucket list:
1. Hidden Beach, Marieta Islands
Tucked under the surface, the Marieta Islands "Hidden Beach" is a secret beach with crystal clear waters that travelers can access by swimming or kayaking through a long water tunnel.
2. Huacachina, Lima, Peru
Haucachina is a dessert oasis just five hours away from Lima, Peru. The watering hole has evolved from an upper class getaway to a popular spot for backpackers to enjoy sand boarding and dune buggy rides.
3. Blagaj, Bosnia
The Blagaj Tekke is a monastery built for the Dervish cults. Visitors are welcome to visit and take in its wooden interiors while having a drink over the striking Buna river.
4. Silfra Fissure, Iceland
The Silfra Fissure, located in Iceland's Thingvellir National Park, is the only place in the world that you can swim between two continents. Not only does it feature some of the worlds clearest waters, it's also so narrow at some points that you can touch the continental plates or North America and Europe.
5. Isola Bella, Italy
In the 1600s, Isola Bella from a rock in the middle of Lake Maggiore, Italy, to a blossoming garden. In addition to a palace, the area is known for it's stunning baroque gardens.
6. Popeye Village, Malta
Popeye Village in Malta was created as a film set for Popeye before becoming a theme park. The set was created using tree trunks from Holland and about 2,000 gallons of paint. Visitors can go on boat rides, take a tour of a winery, and enjoy water trampolines.
7. Door to Hell, Turkmenistan
This giant hole of fire was created when geologists accidentally tapped into a cavern filled with natural gas. They burned off the hole, hoping the fire would use all the escaped gas and burn out, but it has continued burning to this day.
8. Giola, Greece
Giola is a natural pool located in the Astris region of Greece. Travelers need to walk a trail to reach it, but once they get there, they can swim in a reservoir with stunningly clear waters.
9. Semuc Champey, Guatemala
Guatemala's Semuc Champey is perfect for those in search of turquoise waters hidden among a lush landscape. The ride there is bumpy, but once you arrive, you'll find a limestone bridge with a series of natural pools ideal for swimming.
10. Castellucio di Norcia, Italy
The small town of Castellucio di Norcia is located near Norcia in Umbria, Italy. The town is famous for it's brilliant display of wild flowers that bloom there from late May to early July.
