Ahhhh, summertime. Sunshine, flowers and most importantly: I no longer have to carry a bag that weighs more than me!

During my first year of college, the seasons seemed to run together. I started in the summer, and found myself trading out my tank-tops and sandals for jackets and boots about a week later. Then, somehow, Christmas came around in what seemed like days rather than months.

In order to help ease the transition onto this beautiful new season, I've come up with the top 10 things you'll need to be prepared and make this summer a stress-free one. The best news is: they're all under $20!

1. An umbrella

Rain is the last thing you want in the summertime, but here in North Carolina, it's not as uncommon as we would hope. Better to be prepared and dry, than hopeful and wet. You can grab this $18.99 Benkii umbrella, available in eight patterns and colors, on Amazon here.

2. Disposable Camera

To remind you to not only make memories this summer, but capture them. Also, get off your phone every once in a while and kick it old-school. Choose from three trendy designs at Urban Outfitters from $3.99 to $6.99 here.

3. Tote Bag

Whether you're heading to Dirty Myrtle, lounging poolside or just spending some much-needed time in the sun this summer, this bag is a practical and stylish necessity this summer. If you need more convincing, Mike D. said in his five-star review, "I bought this beach bag for my wife, and she really likes it!" So, there you go. It's only $15.99; check it out here.

4. Water-Proof Cell Phone Pouch

There's nothing worse than not being able to enjoy your time in the sun because you're distracted by the possibility of your phone getting wet. Choose from four colors of protective cell-phone bags at Bed Bath and Beyond for $9.99. Get yours here.

5. This Full-Sized Blanket That Fits in Your Pocket

Three things: it's sand-proof, it's water-proof and *it fits in your pocket*. Perfect for a day on the beach or a picnic in the park. Get one here for $14.99.

6. This Fancy Reusable Water-Bottle

I may or may not have a drawer full of water-bottles, because I may or may not have been first in line at every event at UNC that offered free *anything*. But this one comes equipped with a pocket perfect for housing cash, cards, gym ID (yeah, right), or keys. Get it here for $12.99.

7. Black Out Curtains

Summer is basically for naps, right? Get your set here for $19.99.

8. Lots and Lots of Phone Chargers

Because you're bound to leave yours at your friend's house. Or your grandma's house. Or your house. Or your other friend's house. Or in a hotel room. Be prepared; stock up with this 4-pack for $12.08 here.

9. These Summer Styrofoam Cups

These cups are available in countless designs (okay, not countless; I just didn't want to count them all... there are a lot) and they're perfect for a day on the lake, or a summer party. Get a pack for $7.00 from IncrediblyCharmed on Etsy here, and bring on the sweet tea!

10. Packing Cubes

These stackable packing cubes make it so much easier to over-pack! Grab this four-pack for just $12 here.

And there you have it: my top 10 summer necessities, all under $20. Have a great summer, and be safe y'all.

Blair Waldorf

The "Gossip Girl" series may be over, but Blair Waldorf's iconic character lives in our hearts forever. Blair was the queen of the Upper East Side, and a character you either loved or hated. She taught us everything we needed to know about life, love and of course, how to score a Chuck Bass. So the next time you feel a bit lost and are in need of guidance, look no further than to the Queen B herself.

As I spend my Sunday avoiding my homework and other adult responsibilities, I realized that I've watched this series over and over about a million times. Sadly, there isn't a Blair quote I don't know, so I came up with a list of a few favorites. You know you love her...xoxo

Summer: a time (usually) free from school work and a time to relax with your friends and family. Maybe you go on a vacation or maybe you work all summer, but the time off really does help. When you're in college you become super close with so many people it's hard to think that you won't see many of them for three months. But, then you get that text saying, "Hey, clear your schedule next weekend, I'm coming up" and you begin to flip out. Here are the emotions you go through as your best friend makes her trip to your house.

Syllabus Week As Told By Kourtney Kardashian

Feeling Lost During Syllabus Week? You're Not Alone!

Winter break is over, we're all back at our respective colleges, and the first week of classes is underway. This is a little bit how that week tends to go.

The professor starts to go over something more than the syllabus

You get homework assigned on the first day of class

There are multiple group projects on the syllabus

You learn attendance is mandatory and will be taken every class

Professor starts chatting about their personal life and what inspired them to teach this class

Participation is mandatory and you have to play "icebreaker games"

Everybody is going out because its 'syllabus week' but you're laying in bed watching Grey's Anatomy

Looking outside anytime past 8 PM every night of this week

Nobody actually has any idea what's happening this entire week

Syllabus week is over and you realize you actually have to try now...or not

Now it's time to get back into the REAL swing of things. Second semester is really here and we all have to deal with it.

panera bread

Whether you specialized in ringing people up or preparing the food, if you worked at Panera Bread it holds a special place in your heart. Here are some signs that you worked at Panera in high school.

1. You own so many pairs of khaki pants you don’t even know what to do with them

Definitely the worst part about working at Panera was the uniform and having someone cute come in. Please don’t look at me in my hat.
