In every close friend group there’s always that friend who has the role of the “mom friend.” This friend is always there nurturing and supporting you as you try to get your mess of a life together. We all have that friend who is there to keep our lives in check! This friend functions as a mom and a best friend all in one. Here are the top 10 signs you’re the mom-friend of the group.

1. You’re the friend who fixes everyone else’s problems.

Whether it’s ordering takeout, making a complaint, or getting an Uber ride, you’re always the one to take care of it. When your friends are in a crisis you always come to the rescue.

2.Weekends are spent monitoring your friends and making sure they stay alive.

You never know what your friends are going to get into, so you keep your phone around just in case someone needs to be bailed out of jail.

3. If you go out with your friends it’s automatically expected that you’ll be the DD.

You don’t trust their judgment and they rely on you to take care of them. You know you’re going to be the only one who’s able to drive home by the end of the night.

4. When they’ve had a little too much you’re always there to comfort them and hold their hair.

You’re there to tell them it’s OK to whatever stupid thing they did or said. You probably keep an extra hair band on your wrist to make sure no one ends up with vomit in their hair.

5. The minute your pal gets home from going out, you expect a text saying that they got home safely.

You keep tabs on your friends making sure they arrive home in one piece. If they don’t call you within five minutes of when they should be home you’ll track them down.

6. If someone picks a fight with your buds you’ll step in and handle it, no questions asked.

No one is allowed to pick on your friends when you’re around. Even if they’re in the wrong you’re going to have their back and try to make peace.

7. You’re always the one to make sure your friend is OK after having a bad day.

When your friend calls you up to chat about her tragic day, you’re there to listen and cope with her. Sending texts with silly pet names and suggesting Mexican food to make her feel better.

8. Your always encouraging your friends to stay away from the stupid boy they can’t get away from.

You’re constantly trying to engrave into your gal pal’s head that the boy she is so desperately in love with absolutely sucks!

9. But you’re always there to dry her tears when he decides to be a jerk again.

Even after the idiot screws your friend over once again, you’re there to tell her that everything will be OK and that it’s his loss.

10. At the end of the day you know they appreciate everything you do and they’d probably be goners without you.

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
