People are always seeking new ways to calm themselves down when they are feeling a bit uneasy. Stress, anxiety, depression or even just a weird mood can cause some serious damage to your day. Don't let the stress of stress pull you down.

If you're looking for an herbal fix, tea is your answer. Tea sales have increased over the years because studies have shown that tea has calming properties. If you're looking to get sipping, here are 10 different types of tea that will ease your stress:

1. Passionflower Tea

Passionflower has been known to treat people with Generalized Anxiety Disorder. Rather than incorporating that into a medication, doctors suggest just adding a teaspoon of passionflower into boiling water or combined with a black or green tea.

2. Lemon Balm Tea

This tea has great relaxation properties because it is caffeine-free. Lemon Balm tea can help ease anxiety as well as help all of you insomniacs finally get some rest. In addition, it can help get rid of heartburn!

3. Chamomile Tea

If you've watched Portlandia, they stress the use of Chamomile throughout a few episodes. This tea is known for getting you to relax because it is caffeine-free. In addition for you ladies, it has great health properties for your lady parts as well. Consider brewing this with a green tea for a little bit of extra flavor.

4. Lavender Tea

Lavender tea is known to reduce anxiety but is also considered an anti-inflammatory! If you have a headache or if you are feeling a little bloated, this should be your go-to.

5. Kava Tea

According to some research, Kava has anti-anxiety properties, similar to the use of the medication, Buspar. The bonus of this remedy is that it is herbal! A pure Kava tea is your best bet in terms of feeling the most relaxed effects.

6. Valerian Root Tea

Valerian Root is typically used as a sleep aid, but because it can relax you it may decrease your symptoms of anxiety. Try sipping on this tea at night to see just how tired it makes you before you test it out during the day.

7. Peppermint Tea

Peppermint has always been known for having several different medicinal properties. For example, peppermint is known to relieve skin irritation, an upset stomach, headaches and even symptoms of the common cold. Luckily, peppermint can also help relieve stress and calm you down. Just add a little bit to your tea and let it steep, then you are good to go!

8. Lime Blossom Tea

Lime Blossom, also known as Linden, is a relaxant. For centuries people have used Linden to calm the nervous system.

9. Ashwagandha Tea

Used as a staple in Ayurvedic medicine, Ashwagandha has been known to maintain homeostasis in the body and reduce chronic anxiety symptoms. Ayurveda is one of the oldest holistic healing systems, and Ashwagandha has been used for over 4,000 years!

10. Tulsi Tea

This popular tea, also known as holy basil, has been around for centuries. Today it is known as a great herbal mood balancer. It is also great because it is not known to make you drowsy, although it is caffeine-free!

My personal favorite tea to help calm me down when I am feeling in a particularly weird mood is White Pomegranate Tea, and you can buy it at Trader Joe's. Although it does not have a fancy name or well-researched properties to treat anxiety, I have personally found it to help me when I am feeling a bit unusual.

If you're looking for a holistic and herbal fix for your stress, take a deep breath and try sipping on these herbs, flowers and stems during teatime.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
