10 Types Of Friends, As Told By Text Messages

Everyone has friends that they value as being an essential part in our lives. Texts and snapchats have been the chosen route of communication between these friends, and their personalities shine through the messages they send. Nothing but good things are usually sent as we all try to navigate through life together.

1. The friend who calls you... and hears your voicemail from 6th grade

When working out plans to get together, people may call you to work out the fine details. If you don't answer, the person will be subject to hearing a voicemail that you recorded when flip phones were "in", and they will definitely make fun of you for it.

2. The friend who texts you and realizes that you think you're a Kardashian

Not a lot of people have a high tolerance for a show that follows people around while they start and resolve drama within the family. If you quote this show, you may have a hit or miss among the people you're talking to. Here's to the friend that you always annoy with that kind of stuff.

3. That friend that gets very emotional over her favorite books

There's always that one friend who is a sucker for a good novel. They're usually the ones to give you your next good read, and you love them for that. You can't help but feel a bit inadequate when you haven't read as many wonderful stories as them...and you're the one who's an English major, not them.

4. That friend that needs your help to survive in school

Everyone always has their friend's backs when it comes to school. It's a lot to handle, and you'll probably lose some details along the way. That's okay, because someone is bound to know what's going on. Here's to the friend who needs your help, and you're happy to give it to them.

5. The friend who solves conflicts between you and your sister

If you have a sibling, then you have a friend that you use to "tattle" on, or gang up with to get your way with your rival relative. This poor person never signs up for this bestowed honor, but they seem to do the job well. It only proves that this friend is a keeper.

6. That friend who shares your fear of all that is small and crawls

A fear for the creepy crawlies is one that is known to terrorize people, and they only seem that much more horrifying when they're in your room. As someone who shares this fear, a certain comfort level is received when you seek help from your friends. In these moments as you get the courage to run away or go get dad, you need your friends the most. It's only a matter of time before it sprouts wings and spawns an entire army of clones designed to eat your brains out.

7. That one friend who holds your things for ransom

Whether it's a croissant, a stick of gum, or a high five that they want in exchange, you'll always have that friend who will use your forgetfulness against you. Not to worry though, as they usually save you a seat in the packed library afterwards.

8. That one friend who is always down for coffee and chocolate

Caffeine and coffee have probably led to the start of more friendships than anything else in the history of time. How can you resist that nutty chocolate chip walnut cookie or the aroma of a fresh cup of joe, especially when you always have someone to share it with?

9. That friend who always doubts themselves, even though they're a genius

We all have a friend to study with and compare grades with, and with this friendship comes a lot of stress over exams and papers. Chances are you've probably both over prepared for the test and you're just doubting yourselves. There's no friendship like it, but at least it gets you to hit the books!

10. That one friend that thinks they're going to get to drive your sweet ride

Telling this person "no" so many times makes you feel like a jerk, so you usually try to phrase it in different ways. If you have a friend like this, chances are that you're probably very close to them if they're always asking to take your wonderful suburban for a spin. Doesn't mean they're ever going to touch your hot pink convertible buggy anytime soon.

Friends are the best things in the world. They always have your back and they're the family that you choose for yourselves. I wouldn't trade some of these wacky conversations for anything, they're priceless!

Sorority
Rebekah Lee

I remember my freshman year oh so well. I remember feeling terrified the night before orientation. The one thing that I dreaded the most was not the new people, the new environment, or even the academic pressure. I was dreading having to talk to sorority girls about Recruitment. I remember cutting off and avoiding any Rho Gamma/Panhellenic Officer that came my way during First Week. I looked at them like they had asked me to cut my arm off whenever they asked me if I wanted to rush. To be honest, I did not even know what rush was, but I knew that I did NOT want to be a part of it. To me, it was dumb. It was a waste of money. It was a waste of my time.

And guess what? I did not rush my freshman year. I spent the first half of my freshman year isolating myself from everyone on campus. I spent all of my time in the library, and then (since I was a commuter) went back home once my work was finished.

Tiana would no doubt be disappointed in the food our cafeteria has to offer.

And hopefully she would cook for everyone in her dorm.

She definitley would not take any 8:00 am classes because she would be up late baking and cleaning up the communal kitchen that are available in every dorm.
