10 TV Episodes That Will Turn 10-Years-Old In 2017
TV Guide

Some of the best television shows aired in the first decade of the 2000s. 2017 is here, and this year, some of our favorite TV show episodes will have been released 10 years ago. Warning: this list may cause feelings of nostalgia and a longing for your childhood.

1. Cory in the House: "The New Kid in Town"

Air date: January 12, 2007

The pilot episode of Cory in the House aired on January 12, 2007. Victor Baxter accepts a job as the chef of the President. Cory and his dad move into the White House, while Tanya is in England and Raven is in college. Cory in the House eased the pain of having to say goodbye to That's So Raven.

2. Zoey 101: "Zoey's Balloon"

Air date: March 11, 2007

In this episode, Zoey and her friends must write their deepest secrets and tie them to balloons, which they release as part of their psychology class. Zoey is blackmailed after her balloon is found by Chase's ex-girlfriend, who forces her to do several embarrassing tasks.

3. The Suite Life of Zach and Cody: "The Suite Life Goes Hollywood" (Part 1 & 2)

Air date: April 20, 2007

In this episode, Zach, Cody, and the rest of the crew travels to Hollywood after a director has an idea of starting a television series based of the twins' lives at the Tipton. Unfortunately, Zach and Cody are fired, and their chances of becoming television stars are ruined.

4. Hannah Montana "Achy Jakey Heart" (Part 1 & 2)

Air date: June 24, 2007

Remember when Jake fell out of the sky and asked Miley to take him back after he kissed her then left for 6 months? She later revealed her secret to him, and the two attempted to date but (sadly) it never worked out.

5. Drake & Josh: "Really Big Shrimp" (Part 1 & 2)

Air date: August 3, 2007

"Really Big Shrimp" is the dramatic two part episode where Josh, mesmerized by "really big shrimp," signs a contract releasing creativity rights to Drake's song "Makes Me Happy." Though it wasn't the last episode to air, it's the series finale of Drake and Josh, probably one of the greatest shows ever created.

6. Phineas and Ferb: "Rollercoaster"

Air Date: August 17, 2007

On August 17, 2017, it'll be 3,653 days (or 10 years) since day one of 104 days of Phineas and Ferb's summer vacation. In this episode, the boys construct a rollercoaster, and Candace begins her never-ending attempt to bust her brothers.

7. iCarly: "iPilot"

Air Date: September 8, 2007

Several months after Drake and Josh ended, we got to see Miranda Cosgrove go from being Megan to starring as Carly. In the pilot episode, Carly, Sam, and Freddie, come up with the idea for iCarly.

8. Wizards of Waverly Place: "Crazy 10-Minute Sale"

Air Date: October 12, 2007

The pilot episode of Wizards of Waverly Place also aired in 2007. In this episode, Alex uses magic to clone herself so that she can go to the 10 minute sale at her favorite store, while her clone attends her wizard class.

9. That's So Raven: "Where There is Smoke"

Air Date: November 10, 2007

In this episode, Raven suspects that Cory has started smoking. There was nothing special or remarkable about this episode, but it just so happens that it was the series finale. So yes, on November 10, 2017, it will have been 10 years since a new That's So Raven episode was released.

10. SpongeBob SquarePants: "Atlantis Squarepantis"

Air date: November 12, 2007

It's hard to believe that it's already 10 years since Nickelodeon excessively advertised the episode where SpongeBob and friends take a trip to the lost city of Atlantis. I don't know about you, but I remember being very disappointed with this episode.

For those long nights that turn into mornings when the struggle is real.

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate

"A Christmas Story" is the star on top of the tree.

The Great Christmas Movie Debate
Mental Floss

One staple of the Christmas season is sitting around the television watching a Christmas movie with family and friends. But of the seemingly hundreds of movies, which one is the star on the tree? Some share stories of Santa to children ("Santa Claus Is Coming to Town"), others want to spread the Christmas joy to adults ("It's a Wonderful Life"), and a select few are made to get laughs ("Elf"). All good movies, but merely ornaments on the Christmas tree of the best movies. What tops the tree is a movie that bridges the gap between these three movies, and makes it a great watch for anyone who chooses to watch it. Enter the timeless Christmas classic, "A Christmas Story." Created in 1983, this movie holds the tradition of capturing both young and old eyes for 24 straight hours on its Christmas Day marathon. It gets the most coverage out of all holiday movies, but the sheer amount of times it's on television does not make it the greatest. Why is it,
then? A Christmas Story does not try to tell the tale of a Christmas miracle or use Christmas magic to move the story. What it does do though is tell the real story of Christmas. It is relatable and brings out the unmatched excitement of children on Christmas in everyone who watches. Every one becomes a child again when they watch "A Christmas Story."
