10 Truths About Food Delivery

Hi guys! It's your local delivery girl here! While people may think that delivery jobs are all fun and games, many of us are hard workers who need these jobs to pay our bills. And while it is a ton of fun at times, we are often put in some really awkward situations that could be avoided. So before you pick up the phone and order some pizza, learn the 5 truths about food delivery from a delivery girl!

1. We absolutely do not spit in your food or eat it

While a lot of people like to joke around that drivers "spit in your food" or "eat it" if you are rude while ordering (and yes sometimes the people who are taking your orders are also the ones who are bringing it to you) or do not give a good tip, drivers actually have no part in the preparation or handling of your food until it is bagged and ready to go. And the act of unwrapping it once it is in our possession is way too much of a hassle and time commitment. As good as it may smell, we keep our hands off!

2. We get there as fast as we can

If you think the life of a delivery driver is just driving around aimlessly and taking our sweet time with every order, you are sadly mistaken. Between restocking and cleaning the restaurant, taking phone orders, and being our bosses b*tches, we are actually very busy and on our feet the whole shift, except for when we are in our cars on deliveries. And if our boss does think we are driving too slow, he calls us up and lets us know.

3. No matter how many times we have delivered to you we still need your address and info

My memory is pretty good, but it is not that good. And while we may deliver to you literally everyday, your neighbor might as well. It would be annoying to not only you, but us as well if the order got mixed up.

4. Tips make or break our day

After spending 15 minutes driving, looking for a parking spot, and then waiting 10 minutes for you to answer your door, it can be really frustrating to get a 25 cent tip...

5. A messed up order is not our fault

We have absolutely zero involvement in the making of your food. So if you got cheese on your sandwich when you specifically said no cheese, it is not our fault. Please do not take it out on us.

Whether it be pizza, Chinese food, or whatever you desire, all delivery drivers are the same! Please treat them with respect!

18 Things I Want To Do Now That I'm 18

I'm technically an adult, so I'm legally required to live a little, right?

For the entirety of my high school career, I was always seen as the goody-two-shoes. I never got in trouble with a teacher, I kept stellar grades, and when I wasn't doing extracurricular activities, I was at home studying. Even when I did go out, it was usually with a bunch of fellow band geeks. The night would end before 11:00 PM and the only controversial activity would be a fight based on who unfairly won a round of Apples-to-Apples when someone else clearly had a better card (I promise I'm not still holding a grudge).

Now that I'm officially an adult, I want to pursue some new things. I want to experience life in a way that I never allowed myself to do prior to entering college. These are the years that I'm supposed to embark on a journey of self-discovery, so what better way to do that than to create a bucket list?
