As someone who has grown up in Rabun County, I've come to realize that there are several quirks that come along with this town that no one but people from here could understand. Here's to all the accidental inside things that we've created.
1. No one else knows where Rabun County is.
2. It takes skill to drive our roads, and people from Florida, South Carolina, and Gwinnett just don't have it.
3. People leave their houses and cars unlocked.
4. It's easy to spot someone not from Rabun County because everyone knows everyone.
5. If you're in high school there's a 50/50 chance you hang out in the Bi-Lo parking lot (or have at some point)
6. You know that the Bi-Lo parking lot isn't even a Bi-Lo parking lot anymore.
7. Words like "gee-haw" and "ooshie" are part of your normal vocabulary, as well as other words and phrases no one else would understand.
8. Also, the suffix of verbs is -in, not -ing (ie. fishin).
9. Some of the best views are here.
10. As much as we all gripe about this place and say we're ready to leave, we all miss it once we do.
