My Dad thrives off of adventure, and I have extended family living all over the globe, so from a very young age, I developed a love for travel. Traveling has taught me that the best way to learn about the world around is not through a textbook, but through experiences and adventure. This truth has come to deeply resonate with me, because if it were not for the travel that I have done in my short 18 years, I would not understand the vast world around me the way I do now. I have come to love different languages, vibrant cultures, ethnic foods, mountaintop views, ocean depths, warm passing smiles, and colorful alleyways. Whether it has been a two or a 24 hour plane flight, each place that I have traveled to has taught me something new and has left me awestruck, so I thought I'd share a few scenes and thoughts with you.
1. Hopetown; Abaco, Bahamas
The small town of Hopetown is simple and full of vibrant people. A few of my favorite things about the Abacos is spending your day below the ocean's surface, using a boat as your main form of transportation, and the warm coconut Bahamian bread (it's a MUST).
2. Venice, Italy
Venice is a city that will keep you on your feet, quite literally. Venice is completely built upon water and holds 177 canals, which split the city into 118 small islands with 409 connecting bridges, so there is always somewhere to explore and a new alley to adventure in.
3. Salzburg, Austria
Salzburg left me in awe. I have grown up watching "The Sound of Music," so to actually step foot in the Swiss Alps, where it was filmed, was unreal. The views were phenomenal and the people where so kind and welcoming.
4. Cap Cana, Dominican Republic
Cap Cana is the most tropical place I have ever been to. The water is a clear crystal shade of blue, the flowers are vibrant, and on every corner you turn, and the food is fresh and so delicious.
5. Cape Town, South Africa
Looking for somewhere to go that is completely different from anywhere on this planet? Cape Town is your next destination. Every corner of Cape Town is full of beauty and diversity, whether it is a neighborhood of colorful houses, penguin-lined beaches, or the view from Table Mountain. It will be a trip that you will never forget.
6. Munich, Germany
Munich is the third largest city in Germany. I spent a little over 24 hours in Munich, and everything about the city is beautiful and full of energy. It is full of architecture, art, culture, and innovation.
7. Florence, Italy
Florence is another city in Europe that I have had the privilege of going to because my aunt, uncle, and cousins lived there for a portion of time. Florence is a literal work of art. From the galleries that are filled with art by famous artists like Michelangelo, to the rolling hillsides and vineyards of Tuscany, you will constantly be in awe. Another bonus of this beautiful city is the food; you could very easily eat your way through Florence with the amount of bread, pizza, and pasta served at every corner.
8. Breckenridge, Colorado
It is a winter wonderland dream town. During the Christmas season, the lights are strung, the horse drawn carriages march up and down main street, and the town looks as if it is straight from a movie.
9. Tanzania
Beautiful is an understatement. If you ever get the chance to go on a Safari, GO. It will change your life forever.
10. Idaho Falls, Idaho
Last but certainly not least, Idaho. Random right? No, it's so beautiful. If you love to fly fish, this is the place to do it. You can float down the Madison River all day, dock up, eat lunch, and end up on a beautiful hillside with a view that stretches farther than the eye can see, with no building in sight.
