10 Must See Towns In Italy
Alexandra Munteanu

It's been far too long since I wrote an article about my favorite little country situated on the Mediterranean Sea and since I have lately been feeling nostalgic for my time abroad, I figured it was time for another. When people think of Italy, the first thought is usually the Colosseum or mounds of gelato, maybe. But there are so many amazing aspects of Italian culture that are located in town around the country. Here are 10 places you should absolutely visit in Italy...

1. Florence

Everyone knows how I feel about Florence, it's my favorite place on this earth. Everything about it whether it be the food, views or people, brings a smiles to my face.

2. Orvieto

There's this tiny town situated in Umbria with a massive church in the town's center. While I traveled through Italy, Orvieto stayed one of my favorite places with its small cobblestone streets and delicious wine.

3. Perugia

This city is a beautiful blend of historic meets modern with its ancient city walls and cool American run bars.

4. Capri

Taking a boat to this island was like transporting into a fairytale. You can take a single chairlift to the top of the island for unbeatable views.

5. Riomaggiore

Riomaggiore is just one of the beautiful towns along Cinque Terre and you really should get to all of them but for the sake of listing, Riomaggiore is great. You can hike along the entire span of the coastal towns and reward yourself with seafood cones and margarita buckets.

6. Rapolano Terme

This is the perfect place to go for a weekend or day of relaxation. Located in Tuscany, you can squeeze in a wine tasting and then head to the thermal spa.

7. Rome

Okay, okay, you knew I couldn't go a whole list without putting this on. While Rome isn't my favorite place in Italy, you have to go to see the Colosseum, the Pantheon, and the Trevi, along with the other jaw dropping historical sites. It's important to learn about the past so you can fully enjoy it in the present.

8. Venice

Whether you're going for Carnevale or just to see the unique waterways, Venice is always a good idea. (Plus it's still on my bucket list to ride in a gondola!)

9. Cortona

Cortona is gorgeous, plus as an added bonus, Under the Tuscan Sun is set here so you'll feel all of the feels if you go with a loved one.

10. Como (Lake Como)

Situated near the Alps in Northern Italy, Como is an escape from the hustle of Rome and the sprawling hillsides of Tuscany.

Now if you don't mind, I'm ready to renew my visa and head back to my second home. Ciao!

Taylor Swift in orange dress playing a moss-covered piano on stage with bright lights.

A three-and-a-half-hour runtime. Nine Eras. Eleven outfit changes. Three surprise songs. Zero breaks. One unforgettable evening. In the past century, no other performer has put on an electric performance quite like Taylor Swift, surpassing her fans ‘wildest dreams’. It is the reason supporters keep coming back to her shows each year. Days later, I’m still in awe of the spectacle ‘Miss Americana’ puts on every few days in a new city. And, like one of Taylor’s exes, has me smiling as I reminisce about the memories of the night we spent together.

Today I started my third week of college at Minnesota State Moorhead. I have survived welcome week, finding my classes on the first day, and being an awkward loner in the dining hall. Even though I have yet to be here for a month, I have already experienced many thoughts and problems that only a new college student can relate to.

"Make sure to get involved when you're in college!"

We've all heard some variation of this phrase, whether it came from parents, other family members, friends, RAs, or college-related articles. And, like many clichés, it's true for the most part. Getting involved during your college years can help you make friends, build your resume, and feel connected to your campus. However, these commitments can get stressful if you're dealing with personal issues, need to work, or aren't sure how to balance classes and everything else going on during the semester.

In college, one of the essential things to have is friends. Yes, textbooks, a laptop, and other school supplies are important but friends are essential. Friends are that support system everybody needs. The more friends you have the better the support system you have. But you also have someone to share experiences with. And don’t settle for just one or two friends because 8 out of 10 times they are busy and you are studying all alone. Or they have other friend groups that do not include you. Don’t settle for just one or two friends; make as many friends as you can. After the first couple of weeks of college, most friend groups are set and you may be without friends.

For a moment your world is spinning. The phone alarm has just scared you awake and you’re flooded by daunting thoughts of the day ahead. You have three assignments due and little time to work on them because of your job. You’re running late because you’ve hit snooze one to many times after yesterday’s long hours. You dizzily reach for a hoodie, craving its comfort, and rush for a speedy exit, praying you will have time to pick up coffee. Does this sound familiar?
