We all have those nights when we just, for the life of us, fall asleep. We spend hours tossing and turning, flipped the pillow over, and trying to find that one comfortable position. Here are some tips to help you fall asleep!

1. Exercise during the day

It is proven that when you exercise during the day, your body is physically tired and will be ready for bed by end of the evening.

2. Avoid Naps

If you are the type of person that enjoys taking naps during the day but can't sleep at night, stop taking those naps. After napping during the day, not being able to sleep is your body's way of telling you that it's not tired.

3. Have a set sleeping schedule

The human body runs on a schedule, if you go to sleep and wake up the same time every day for a while, you will notice that you will no longer need that alarm clock, as your body will automatically wake up. If you come up with a sleeping schedule and stick to it, your body will naturally become tired at that same time every night.

4. Avoid Using technology before bed

The use of technology stimulates the brain which causes the brain to be active, and not in a position to go to sleep. If you cut out using your smartphone or laptop at least 30 minutes before bed, you will notice it is easier to fall asleep.

5. Make Sure the Environment is Ideal

Sleeping in an environment that is too cold or too hot is not ideal for sleeping. In order to sleep well during the night, the environment in which you are sleeping must be suitable for you to sleep in.

6.Make your bed as comfortable as possible

Find the best pillows, blankets, mattress, and bedding for you and stick to it. As long as your bed is comfortable, you will find yourself falling asleep faster and sleeping better than before.

7. Listen to soothing music

If you are the type of person who falls asleep while listening to music, try putting on some soothing tunes to help you sleep.

8. Limit caffeine intake

Caffeine stimulates the brain to keep you awake during the day. While limiting the caffeine you take in during the day, you are erasing that caffeine from your system and ensuring your brain has every possibility to sleep.

9. Get as much Sunlight as possible

The body's natural Melatonin production happens when it is dark. By being out in the sunlight during the day, there is less Melatonin that gets produced and you feel more awake. But have you ever noticed that after spending a day in the sun you are tired? That's because when it gets dark, your body produces the Melatonin in the dark and therefore you get tired.

10. Eat right

Avoiding big meals at night will help you sleep better. If you are hungry, try eating little snacks that help you sleep, such as half a turkey sandwich, oatmeal or a banana.

If you follow these tips, then you should be able to sleep better at night. Everyone has experienced a period of insomnia at one point in their life. Hopefully, your next night's sleep is a much better one.

8 Things I Realized After My First Semester In College

Actually, Kylie Jenner, 2018 is the year of realizing things.

The first semester of college is famous for being one of the most difficult transitions of one's young adult life. You're thrown into a completely new area where the majority of the people surrounding you are strangers in an academic environment that's much more challenging then what you've grown accustomed to for the past twelve years. On top of that, you probably share a room with another person (or even multiple people) on the lumpiest "mattress" you've ever slept on.

With this change comes a lot of questions: what do I want to major in? What am I passionate about? Is what I'm passionate about something I'm actually good at? Why does the bathroom smell like cranberry juice and vodka? What is that thing at the bottom of the shower drain?

6 Unrealistic Expectations Society Has For Young Adults

Don't let the thesaurus-inspired vocabularies in our résumés fool you. We're actually just big kids.

Well over four feet tall and 100 pounds in weight, many of us "young adults" of the world still consider ourselves children. Big, working, college-attending, beer-drinking children. We may live on our own, know how to cook noodles, and occasionally use a planner, but don't be fooled; the youthful tendencies that reside within us still make their way into our daily lives. From choosing to stay up until 3:00 a.m. playing video games on a school night to going out in 30 degree weather without a coat, we still make decisions that our parents and grandparents would shake their heads at in disappointment. So why are we expected to know exactly how to be a wise, professional, sensible adult? It's not that we're irresponsible (for the most part, anyway). It's that we are young, inexperienced, and still have the sought-after, enthusiastic mentality that we can do and be whatever we want, which has not yet been tarnished by the reality of the world. These are just a few of the unrealistic expectations that society has for young adults.
