Whenever we hear the word "healthy" it probably makes you think "exercise", "eating healthy", etc. It does mean that, but it also means everything surrounding you in order to live a healthier lifestyle

1. Eat healthy (when you can)

No one is forcing you to start a diet, but when the time is right, pick up more veggies, fruits, chicken, etc. at the grocery store and bypass all the junk food that gets in the way. I am not saying right this very second, but when you feel ready to make the jump.

2. Be active

Even if you just want to take your dogs for a walk; do something that gets your heart race going and something that can make you sweat a bit. Being active for just a half hour every day will improve your lifestyle & it will actually make you want to go outside more. Go to the gym, ride your bike, go for a run, rollerblade, etc and enjoy this beautiful world.

3. Be social

Nothing is more lonely than being alone by yourself for hours on end. Pick up your phone, call/text your friends and do something with them. Being social increases happiness and also creates a more healthy environment for yourself. Do not stay inside eating junk, when you can be exploring the town with your friends!

4. Create a healthy environment

This can coincide with #3, but create a healthy environment for yourself that includes people you love, things you love to do, and ignoring any of the negative factors that can come into your life. You have the choice do anything with your life, so why not make it a happy & healthy one.

5. Read a book

Reading always helped me calm down any of the stress that was being put on me. Getting lost in a good book is what everyone should experience. It takes you away from reality for a while and lets you imagine pretty much anything you can think of. Go to the bookstore or the library and pick up a book you find the most interesting.

6. Take care of yourself

Everyone is perfect the way they are, and in order to live healthy and happy, you should respect your body. Do not damage it by putting in toxic things that could put your body in harm's way. You only get one chance at life, so please do not ruin it for yourself.

7. Stay close with your family

My family is my lifeline and I do not know where I would be if I did not have them in my life. It is extremely important to be close to your family because they are your support system. They are with you through everything and will love you no matter what.

8. Meditate

I am quite new to meditation and I think it will take me a while to get used to it, but it honestly does help. If you are stressing about something or if you just want to meditate for 10 minutes in the morning, it works every time. Just take deep breaths, relax, and meditate.

9. Give yourself more credit

We can not forget about the one person that kinda matters the most, and that would be you! Give yourself more credit because you deserve it. Life is not easy, and by trying to live a healthier lifestyle you are already in the right direction.

10. Don't forget to have fun

While you are out there trying to focus on living healthier and happier, do not forget to have fun. Go out, explore, adventure, and live life.

Good luck!

As a college student, being a nanny over the summer is both enjoyable and challenging. Underneath the seemingly perfect trips to the pool or countless hours spent playing Monopoly are the obstacles that only nannies will understand. Trading in your valuable summer vacation in return for three months spent with a few children less than half your age may seem unappealing, but so many moments make it rewarding. For my fellow summer nannies out there, I know you can relate.

There are a lot of really easy, common names in the U.S. and while many of those simple names have different spellings, most of the time, pronunciation is not an issue that those people need to worry about.
