Ever since "Remember the Titans" recently showed on ABC Family, I haven't been able to stop thinking about it. I was just a small five-year old when it came out, and yet, I know that it somehow shaped me as a person. I'm not sure if it's Denzel Washington's pure beauty (an excellent acting), the resilience of the team, or the many examples of unbreakable friendship throughout, but this movie manages to give me ~the feels~ every. Single. Time. Whether they be funny, poignant, motivational, or forward-thinking lines, there are many moments worth remembering in this movie. For instance...
1. "Alice, are you blind? Don't you see the family resemblance?"
2. "This is where they fought the battle of Gettysburg. Fifty thousand men died right here on this field, fighting the same fight that we are still fighting among ourselves today. This green field right here, painted red, bubblin' with the blood of young boys. Smoke and hot lead pouring right through their bodies. Listen to their souls, men. I killed my brother with malice in my heart. Hatred destroyed my family. You listen, and you take a lesson from the dead. If we don't come together right now on this hallowed ground, we too will be destroyed, just like they were. I don't care if you like each other of not, but you will respect each other. And maybe... I don't know, maybe we'll learn to play this game like men."
3. Makes me crack up every time. You feel so bad for him, and yet we've all had moments like this.
4. When they sing the "Na na na na, na na na na, hey hey hey, goodbye" song solemnly at Gary's funeral. So you want to end the movie with everyone watching crying, eh?
5. Try to say you've never said "Sunshiine" in that voice before in reference to this movie. Yeah, you can't.
6. "There is no democracy. It is a dictatorship. I am the law." Throughout the movie, we learned from Coach Boone the importance of discipline and tough love.
7. LOL, yes.
8. When tough, objective Sheryl got emotional, you knew it was gonna be a game worth remembering.
9. You know that every time you hear this song, you think of Remember the Titans.
10. We are the Titans!
