10 Times 'High School Musical 2' Accurately Described Your Summer Vacation
The Walt Disney Company

For most college students, school let out about a month ago, and by this time you're either starting your summer job, about to start your summer job, or still looking for a summer job. I also enjoy using my free time in the summer to reconnect with nostalgic childhood obsessions, and "High School Musical" is certainly at the top of that list. Very few things have topped the anticipation I felt before "HSM 2" came out in the summer of 2007, and it is quite hard to believe it has been ten whole years since that movie came out on Disney Channel. With the impending anniversary of this childhood hallmark, a year and a half after the ten year anniversary of the franchise's first installment, I offer a (hopefully) humorous look at summer vacation through the eyes of these famous Albuquerque teens who just wanted to sing their hearts out all summer.

1. There's always that person who demonstrates how perfectly they grasp every aspect of the job you're expected to do.

2. It's even worse when you seriously struggle to pronounce a coworker's name, so you resort to hilariously spouting gibberish to cover your failure.

3. But it's not all bad, there's usually a cute coworker who you casually make eyes at every day, with no intentions of acting on your feelings.

4. In your spare time, you imagine yourself having fabulous pool parties every weekend and enjoying perfectly choreographed pool time.

5. And yet, your weekends are always slightly lazier than you had imagined they would be.

6. But there's always the promise of dramatic karaoke or car sing-a-longs with your friends to lighten the mood.

7. The best part of summer is definitely embracing a happy-go-lucky attitude and enjoying free time without any guilt about having to do work.

8. However, it really is frustrating when the summer weather you've been longing for all year is still not quite your optimal temperature.

9. It's even worse when you see images of Uncle Sam in your head saying, "We want YOU to be productive this summer."

10. Despite all this, you're always flabbergasted when summer ends way quicker than you thought it would.

I'm not actually sure that this .gif comes from "High School Musical 2," but it's close enough and you get the point. There's a lot of fear and negativity in the world, but there's nothing wrong with cracking open some nice HSM 2 .gifs to get you in the summer mood, just in time to have to worry about school again. Summer is about doing the things you don't have time to do during the school year, which, for me and I'm sure many others, involves reveling in childhood nostalgia and rediscovering some of your staples of summers past.

I think the hardest thing about going away to college is figuring out how to become an adult. Leaving a household where your parents took care of literally everything (thanks, Mom!) and suddenly becoming your own boss is overwhelming. I feel like I'm doing a pretty good job of being a grown-up, but once in awhile I do something that really makes me feel like I'm #adulting. Twenty-somethings know what I'm talking about.

I went to a small high school, like 120-people-in-my-graduating-class small. It definitely had some good and some bad, and if you also went to a small high school, I’m sure you’ll relate to the things that I went through.

1. If something happens, everyone knows about it

Who hooked up with whom at the party? Yeah, heard about that an hour after it happened. You failed a test? Sorry, saw on Twitter last period. Facebook fight or, God forbid, real fight? It was on half the class’ Snapchat story half an hour ago. No matter what you do, someone will know about it.

Chandler Bing

I'm assuming that we've all heard of the hit 90's TV series, Friends, right? Who hasn't? Admittedly, I had pretty low expectations when I first started binge watching the show on Netflix, but I quickly became addicted.

Without a doubt, Chandler Bing is the most relatable character, and there isn't an episode where I don't find myself thinking, Yup, Iam definitely the Chandler of my friend group.

Working with the public can be a job, in and of itself. Some people are just plain rude for no reason. But regardless of how your day is going, always having to be in the best of moods, or at least act like it... right?

1. When a customer wants to return a product, hands you the receipt, where is printed "ALL SALES ARE FINAL" in all caps.

2. Just because you might be having a bad day, and you're in a crappy mood, doesn't make it okay for you to yell at me or be rude to me. I'm a person with feelings, just like you.

3. People refusing to be put on hold when a customer is standing right in front of you. Oh, how I wish I could just hang up on you!
