Hank Moody is a washed up author that hasn't penned a word in years. He's plagued by his vices: sex, drugs, alcohol and his self hatred for screwing it up with Karen, the mother of his child. It might look like his life is spiraling out of control, but Hank has seen it all. Not only is he wise, his way with words allows him to deliver his message with poetic prowess.
1) "Teenage girls are greatly overrated."
Who can argue with that?
2) "Whatever you do, don't be another brick in the wall."
Hank Moody was a lot of things, but unoriginal was certainly not one of them.
3) "It's a big, bad world full of twists and turns, and people have a way of blinking and missing the moment, the moment that could have changed everything."
Well I'm ever blinking again.
4) "There's no time like the present."
True that, brotha.
5) "Who says we have to be realistic?"
Who likes the real world anyways?
6) "Things fall apart. They break. That's life."
Everyone takes a little fixin'.
7) "There's no life without love- not one worth having, anyway."
Because if you didn't root for Karen and Hank, you have no heart.
8) "The key is to get to know people and trust them to be who they are. Instead, we trust them to be who we want them to be- and when they're not, we cry."
Hank has certainly shown us that trying to change people can be difficult.
9) "It's possible that longing for something is better than actually having it. I've heard it said that satisfaction is the death of desire."
He even makes depressing things sound good.
10) "Check yourself before you riggity wreck yourself.
Couldn't have said it better myself, Hank.
