Cristina Yang was perhaps one of the most blunt and direct surgeons on Grey's Anatomy. She wasn't someone to beat around the bush and just got right to the point. There were many times Cristina said just what we all needed to hear, for good or for bad.

1. "But he's not the sun. You are."

Sometimes we forget that we need to focus on ourselves. Our needs are more important that pleasing someone else.

2. "Oh screw beautiful. I'm brilliant."

Beauty isn't the most important thing out there. Take pride in other things, such as your intelligence.

3. "If there's no food, I'm going home!"

Everybody loves food. Duh.

4. "If you want crappy things to stop happening to you, then stop accepting crap and demand something more."

Demand greatness.

5. "If I murdered someone, she's the person I'd call to help me drag the corpse across the living room floor. She's my person."

We all need a person to be our accomplice. Find your person, take care of your person.

6. "Everything isn't so perfectly right, or perfectly wrong."

Nothing is EVER perfect. You can always find a problem with the things that seem right, and goodness in the things that feel completely wrong.

7. "When do you throw in the towel? Admit that a lost cause is sometimes just that? There comes a point when it all becomes too much. When we get too tired to fight anymore. So we give up. That's when the real work begins. To find hope where there seems to be absolutely none at all."

Finding hope can be the hardest thing to do.

8. "Somebody sedate me!"

Sometimes life gets to be too much to handle. Let's face it, this episode destroyed us all a little bit. Cristina really does have feelings.

9. "Pretty good isn't good enough. I wanna be great."

Strive to be the best you can be. (Too bad none of us will ever be as great as Cristina was.)

10. "Have some fire. Be unstoppable. Be a force of nature. Be better than anyone else here, and don't give a damn about what anybody thinks. There are no teams here, no buddies. You're on your own. Be your own."

Sometimes, no one is looking out for you except for you. Embrace it and be the best you can.

Cristina Yang was probably one of the best characters on Grey's Anatomy to date. And we all hated Shonda Rhimes just a little bit when Cristina left the show, but we totally understand. Of course Cristina would have gone, that's just who she is. Sometimes, we just need to look to her for some advice.

April Ludgate

Everyone who is in college right now, or has ever been, knows the struggle of pulling in the strings at the last second. It seems impossible, and you have to do a LOT of things in order to assure your future for the next semester.

April Ludgate, historically, is a very annoyed person, and she doesn't hide it. Of all the times that I binged and re-binged "Parks and Rec," her attitude relates more and more to me.

To The Cheerful Person On Their Rainy Days, You Are Valid

The world is not always sunshine and rainbows, and you do not have to be, either.

Ask friends of mine to name a quality about me, and one a lot them will point out the fact that I am almost always smiling. I like to laugh and smile -- not to quote Buddy the Elf in April, but smiling is my favorite! It is probably my favorite go-to expression. However, what a lot of people do not see is that I have my down days. I have days when smiling and laughing is a real struggle, or when I have so much on my plate that going out of my way to behappy takes more effort than I have stored in me. Be it a symptom of college and growing up or a facet of life, I cannot always be content.
