The early 2000s were filled with days of chugging Squeeze Its, layering polos with popped collars, chunky highlights, TRL, and maybe jamming to a few of these songs.
1. "Eye to Eye" by Powerline from "A Goofy Movie"
Probably one of the coolest cartoon singers loosely based on a real life pop star. This song made me Jerry Maguire dance all over my house. Did you get goofy and do the Perfect Cast too?
2. "Supernatural" by Raven Symone from "That's So Raven"
I begged my parents for the "That's So Raven" soundtrack as an early birthday present and nearly broke the disc after playing this song non-stop.
3. "The Proud Family Theme Song" by Destiny's Child ft. Solange
As if the show wasn't great enough, Destiny's Child was asked to sing the theme song with a surprise collaboration with Beyonce's little sis Solange.
4. "Bring it All Back to You" by S Club 7 from "Miami 7"
The song was a single in the British pop group's self-titled debut album and was later the opening theme to their short-lived children's sitcom.
5. "Cheetah Sisters" by the Cheetah Girls from "The Cheetah Girls"
My best friend and I were always short two people, but that never stopped us from choreographing our own Cheetah Sisters dance routine. Although, we never got to coordinating matching outfits.
6. One Girl Revolution by Superchick(s) from Cadet Kelly
Lizzie McGuire left the comforts of her own sitcom to enroll in military school and give us this high charged girl power performance alongside Ren Stevens/Kim Possible.
7. Get Your Shine On by Jesse McCartney from "Kim Possible: So the Drama"
Got my shine on a couple times and boogied on to this 2004 single.
8. Disney Channel Circle of Stars Covers
In the words of another DIsney starlet: this is what dreams are made of.
9. Ultimate by Lindsay Lohan from "Freaky Friday"
When a child star grows up, picks up a guitar and stars a music career, 8 year old me watched in awe and put she/he's promotional pop/rock song on repeat.
10. "Trashin' the Camp" Remix by Phil Collins ft. NSYNC
If you forgot about the Tarzan soundtrack, here's your reminder. The venerable Phil Collins, who also worked on the Brother Bear soundtrack (also fantastic), gave the original Turk and Tantor tune a little spice alongside a young, doo wopping NSYNC, featuring a ramen noddle-haired JT.
11. The Chosen One by Mavin from "American Dragon: Jake Long"
Who knew Twitty from Even Stevens could sing like this?
