10 Thoughts You Have At the End Of The Semester

In college, finals week is the most stressful week of the entire year. No feeling is better than walking out of your last final and breathing your first breath of freedom the entire semester. As I sit here finally able to de-stress, I bring to you 10 thoughts we all have at the end of the semester.

1. When will final grades be posted?

We all know the feeling of staring at the computer screen constantly refreshing the report card screen waiting for the dreaded grades to be posted.

2. How will I break it to the parental units that I, once again, don't have a 4.0 average?

Mom and Dad, I know I said this was the semester. But, things change. Next semester for sure though. I promise. Maybe.

3. I need sleep.

Get me to my bed ASAP. It's been awhile since I've seen the back of my eyelids.

4. I'm going to miss having class with so and so.

Goodness, I'm really going to miss getting to see him everyday. Eye candy in class is always a plus.

5. Yes! I have a three month long vacation from people I don't like.

Three months away from all these crazy people. It's a beautiful thing. *Sigh of relief.*

6. How should I celebrate?

A fancy dinner? A massage? A shopping spree? There are so many options to consider!

7. What do I want for my first meal?

Haven't eaten a solid meal all week, so I deserve a feast!

8. What will be my first Netflix series?

Summer gives you an endless amount of time to watch Netflix with no worries about homework. You no longer need to use it to procrastinate. Binge watch away!

9. Next semester, I need to try harder.

I tell myself every semester I'm going to do better. Next semester seems like a good time to try harder.

10. Hello summer!

As college students, we are all familiar with the horror show that is course registration week. Whether you are an incoming freshman or selecting classes for your last semester, I am certain that you can relate to how traumatic this can be.

1. When course schedules are released and you have a conflict between two required classes.

Bonus points if it is more than two.

Raising the minimum wage to a livable wage would not only benefit workers and their families, it would also have positive impacts on the economy and society. Studies have shown that by increasing the minimum wage, poverty and inequality can be reduced by enabling workers to meet their basic needs and reducing income disparities.

I come from a low-income family. A family, like many others in the United States, which has lived paycheck to paycheck. My family and other families in my community have been trying to make ends meet by living on the minimum wage. We are proof that it doesn't work.

Every college student knows and understands the struggle of forcing themselves to continue to care about school. Between the piles of homework, the hours of studying and the painfully long lectures, the desire to dropout is something that is constantly weighing on each and every one of us, but the glimmer of hope at the end of the tunnel helps to keep us motivated. While we are somehow managing to stay enrolled and (semi) alert, that does not mean that our inner-demons aren't telling us otherwise, and who is better to explain inner-demons than the beloved April Ludgate herself? Because of her dark-spirit and lack of filter, April has successfully been able to describe the emotional roller-coaster that is college on at least 13 different occasions and here they are.
