11 Thoughts While Watching Season 4 of "Orange Is The New Black"
Doris Leslie Bleau

Recently, I finished the most recent season of "Orange Is The New Black." I figured since there are so many emotions involved, I had to talk about them. If you are as obsessed with this amazing Netflix original series as I am, I guarantee you can relate to at least one of these stages (which are in no particular order)!

There are spoilers ahead, you have been warned!

1. When you finally get the notification that OITNB is back on Netflix

This calls for dancing around while the theme song, "You've Got Time," plays in the opening credits, pumping you up for a very drama and comedy-filled season! Binge watching this show is a must, and when you finally realize you are in too deep, there is no turning back.

2. Realizing the Alex Vosse is still alive

I can't be the only one who wanted her character written off after season three, but was relieved that she is still alive and grew to finally liking her character in season four!

3. Seeing that Sophia is still in the SHU, and she is in horrible condition

I completely understand why she wanted protection after being beaten and ridiculed for being transgender, but to find out that the was put in maximum security for as long as she was only furthers the damage done by this hate crime.

4. Watching how violent Maria and her "gang" become

Maria's power came on very suddenly, and once it did, you learned that she or her posse are never to be underestimated.

5. Learning of Lolly's mental health issues, and seeing how it impacted her

Lolly was very unusual when she was first introduced, but she is a character that you learn to love. My heart broke for her when the only way for her to be safe was to be in the psych ward.

6. Humphrey and the new COs

This speaks for itself; none of the new COs can be trusted. We are shown just how brutal and power hungry these officers are, and they do not care for anyone but themselves. Look at what Humphrey did to Maritza, and Piscatella is so arrogant! I like that Blanca was used to be the inmates leader to fight against these officers.

7. When Piper gets attacked by Maria and her crew

This was such a huge turning point in this current season, as we see how ruthless Maria is and how guilty Piper really feels. When she gets branded, I could barley watch, but this was a huge turning point for the "panty business" story line.

8. Nicky finally comes back from the SHU

I have loved Nicky since season one, and I was so sad when she was sent to MAX for the drugs she was selling. I figured this was the end of her character on OITNB, but when she came back, I was so thrilled! She really adds a good sense of humor to the show!

9. Daya holding a gun on the CO's

This. So many words to describe the season finale, especially watching Daya take hold of the gun and point it at the COs! Of course we are left wondering if she will shoot the gun.

10. The tragedy of Poussey

Okay, I honestly cried my eyes out when Bailey accidentally killed Poussey! I always LOVED her character, and I believed she was one of the genuinely good people in the prison. She did not deserve to die the way she did, and to be left in the cafeteria as long as she was. Poor Soso, having her girlfriend die and Tastyee having to watch it. RIP.

11. Having to wait a whole year for the next season

Netflix why do you have to do this to us? We cannot wait a whole year to find out what happens next at Litchfield!

New year, new semester, not the same old thing. This semester will be a semester to redeem all the mistakes made in the previous five months.

1. I will wake up (sorta) on time for class.

Let's face it, last semester you woke up with enough time to brush your teeth and get to class and even then you were about 10 minutes late and rollin' in with some pretty unfortunate bed head. This semester we will set our alarms, wake up with time to get ready, and get to class on time!

And so it begins.

1. Walk in motivated and ready to rock

Camping out at the library is not for the faint of heart. You need to go in as a warrior. You usually have brought supplies (laptop, chargers, and textbooks) and sustenance (water, snacks, and blanket/sweatpants) since the battle will be for an undetermined length of time. Perhaps it is one assignment or perhaps it's four. You are motivated and prepared; you don’t doubt the assignment(s) will take time, but you know it couldn’t be that long.

December... it's full of finals, due dates, Mariah Carey, and the holidays. It's the worst time of the year, but the best because after finals, you get to not think about classes for a month and catch up on all the sleep you lost throughout the semester. But what's worse than finals week is the last week of classes, when all the due dates you've put off can no longer be put off anymore.

Thanksgiving break is over and Christmas is just around the corner and that means, for most college students, one hellish thing — finals week. It's the one time of year in which the library becomes over populated and mental breakdowns are most frequent. There is no way to avoid it or a cure for the pain that it brings. All we can do is hunker down with our books, order some Dominos, and pray that it will all be over soon. Luckily, we are not alone in this suffering. To prove it, here are just a few of the many deranged thoughts that go through a college student's mind during finals week.

I know every college student has daily thoughts throughout their day. Whether you're walking on campus or attending class, we always have thoughts running a mile a minute through our heads. We may be wondering why we even showed up to class because we'd rather be sleeping, or when the professor announces that we have a test and you have an immediate panic attack.
