With finals season upon us, long and stressful nights of studying are what us college students are looking forward to. If you are like myself, you procrastinate and mentally prepare yourself for the stress that comes with finals.

A few thoughts that everybody has during finals may include:

1. Refreshing your email to hopefully read that your professor cancelled the final.

Some professors will do it, a few of my friends have already gotten that email. Sadly, I have not and will most likely never receive such an email in the next week.

2. Thinking about how you want finals to be over so you can go home and be with your friends.

The daunting thought of knowing that you will be home and reunited with all of your friends but having to survive finals to get to that first.

3. Locking yourself in your room and questioning if you're going insane from lack of social interaction.

You want to socialize, but you know that you need to stay alone so you can stay focused.

4. Wanting to eat every possible unhealthy food.

If you are anything like me, you find food to be comforting. During finals, you may catch yourself ordering pizza at 11 o'clock at night because not only are you stress eating, but you also forgot to eat that day.

5. Wondering what it is like to get a decent amount of sleep.

Because during finals, you forget that it is 2 in the morning and you are still trying to study because you feel like you have retained nothing.

6. Trying to convince yourself not to have your third mental breakdown of the day.

Sometimes you need to remind yourself to just breathe, you will survive.

7. Praying that a certain topic is not on the final because you truly just cannot understand it, but then it is.

You win some, and you definitely lose some.

8. Walking out of a final and not really knowing how to feel, except that you are done with the class.

You may not feel like you aced the exam, but at least it is over.

9. When you have to internally yell at yourself because you keep getting distracted from studying.

Sometimes you catch yourself 3 months deep in someone's twitter after taking a "5-minute" study break.

10. Finally, getting your final results back and realizing all the studying was worth it.

In the end, the studying will be worth it. I promise.

When I was learning how to talk, I was taught both Portuguese and English at the same time. In elementary school, I started taking mandatory Spanish classes, which I did well in because of my knowledge of Portuguese. Then in high school, on top of taking Spanish, I also started taking French. Now, in college, already fluent in English and Portuguese, I'm in the process of becoming fluent in Spanish, and I have a standard high school level understanding of French.

I am without a doubt one of those people who refuses to start decorating for Christmas or listen to Christmas music until after Thanksgiving. Unfortunately, Thanksgiving has become an underrated holiday over the years. You barely see any Thanksgiving decorations in stores; it's like they skip right from Halloween to Christmas.

Some universities only get two or three days off for Thanksgiving break. Or, if your university is like mine, you get the whole week off go go home. A whole week off is a long time. I'm not complaining, because I'd rather have a whole week off than three days, but there is a lot of down time. Here are some ideas as to what you can do to get the most out of your Thanksgiving break.
