As finals get closer, we all begin to have the same thoughts. Typically, they revolve around how we can do as little as possible for the best grade possible. We spend a good amount of time freaking out and worrying and more often than not, the amount of time we spend on that is enough time to have studied a good chunk of the material on the test -- but that’s irrelevant, right?
Here are the ten thoughts we all have leading up to the big tests:
- Ask everyone you know for a study guide/old test
- What is my grade right now and what do I need on the final to keep it there?
- Deciding to go on away weekend, instead of studying.
- Bugging out while on your six-hour car ride to away weekend as you realize how productive you could have been in those six hours.
- Attempting to study when you get back.
- Realizing that FINALS stands for "F*** I Never Actually Learned Sh**."
- “I want to cry.”
- Trying to figure out how much would your grade would actually be affected if you just didn’t take the final.
- Realizing there is so much material that you totally forgot to look at.
- Regretting all the times you skipped class.
We always say we will learn for next time and we won't go through this again next semester, yet here we are again. It's OK though, you knew it would happen.
So when you find yourself spending time looking through cabinets of old notes, or thinking about all the classes you could have gone to, or calculating your potential grade based on a variety of grades you can get on your final, just study. It will help you in the end and, if for no other reason, you'll get to go to sleep earlier.
